I grew up in Southern California, I had to learn the hard way, on how to stay warm. I agree with you 100%. I’ve gone to Southern California thrift stores in the summer time, & scored on some great warm layers of clothing. I use to try to just wear a super thick jacket, that didnt work well. Thank you for your tips.

As an Ohio native, it's always a struggle to find the right balance. Like the other day it was 28 in the morning and 47 around 2pm. Plus the rain doesn't make it any easier. Good video, keep up the good work.

All good tips. I find a snood a great help in keeping warm around the neck. Usually take it off when I've warmed up.

Agreed about the layers for sure. I used to refinish hardwood floors in northern Idaho, so I'd wear jeans and a T shirt (because the house needed to be climate controlled), and when I went outside I would throw on a double makinaw wool filson coat lol. Now I work outside more and it's all about the layers. I found a good coat (I think it's made by Key?), heavy duty canvass like a carhartt, but half the cost, and I have a single layer wool coat I'll wear when I'm sure I won't rip it. I often wear a vintage LL bean wool vest I got on ebay. I, too, get cold easily, and wool has been my favorite material for warmth. When I need durability I throw on that canvas coat.

I’m in Warshington so we don’t get the super frigid temps, so usually I wear a hoodie with a flannel over the top. But in the cold cold weather I have a carhartt jacket that’s fleece lined. It’s like wearing a blanket. I loves it. I don’t work so much outside as I used to, but to and from I make sure I’m warm. I wear steel toes Georgia loggers, best boot I’ve worn, but I’ve never bought red wings, danner Adam’s or whites boots…

Nice, I feel like logger boots would be rough on my knees after a while

@ so the Georgia loggers are 8” just enough to protect up just past the shin and lace up to keep me from rolling my ankles. I generally prefer the Romeo’s. I’ve done a lot in those boots and they’ve never hurt my knees. But that’s just me. They are heavy, went to the doc and got weighed without them and lost about 15 lbs! Best day ever!

@@TheFarmsteadWayThey can be. I have 18+ years commercial construction, hard soles for soft ground & soft soles for hard ground. I wear my loggers in the dirt, Thorogoods inside.
