I saw a talk with Roger Ebert and Bill Paxton after a screening of A Simple Plan in 2000 or 2001 I believe. Paxton was proud of the film and utterly hysterical. He asked people if there were any impressions they wanted him to do of his past characters and he did them all, the biggest highlight was him saying Hudson’s lines from ALIENS. Just a great guy. Afterwards he asked where a good local watering hole was so he could drink. RIP Bill Paxton, you were an underrated actor and one of my favs.

He should have been proud as it's one of his finest performances. A great study of an ordinary man who finds himself capable of great evil.

You do a great job on this channel, and I’m not even a huge horror fan. If I could mention my buddy Brent Briscoe, who played opposite of Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton in A Simple Plan. Brent always got overlooked, but he was such a great actor and a great guy. Brent passed a few years ago and he is missed. We used to umpire little league games together. Him calling a 10 year old out at first was hilarious. RIP Brent.

Blackcoat's Daughter scared the crap outta me. For winter horror, I gotta say Krampus might have done the sound and feel of deep winter the best. What massive amounts of snow does to sound and light doesn't get captured by many movies (Hateful 8 also comes to mind), and when it does I am completely sold. Speaking of sold, 30 Days of Night is now on the Watchlist. Thanks dude 10/10 fricheks

As you can probably tell from my lists, I enjoy categorizing movies.

22:21 'A Simple Plan' (1998) is such a great movie and almost has a Coen Brothers 'Fargo' (1996) feeling about it, but it is unique in its own way as a wintery crime drama that shows friendships and family relationships unravel due to greed, paranoia, and not knowing who to trust in the town or beyond. It's perfect. :)

So glad you finally made a winter horror list, I’ve been looking forward to one for a long time. We don’t get much snow out here, but the dead trees and white sky we get would not be out of place in a horror movie, particularly a slow-burn ghost movie. One topic suggestion: city horror movies. I usually associate horror with the wilderness or small isolated towns but do you have any recommendations of horror movies set in big cities (particularly ones where the city itself plays a role of some kind)?

Bridget Fonda would have made a superb Lady Macbeth. Two snowy horror movies: 1. The Thing -1949. This is my favorite 'B' movie of all time. It is just about perfect. 2. Extinction - 2015.
