Thank you. I really enjoyed the whole hot tenting experience. It's too bad we had such an unseasonably warm winter here in Michigan. I was only able to get out the one time. Look for more hot tent videos next winter. Now it's canoe trip season👍

Very nice. My friend just purchased a tee-pee style hot tent and is pushing me for a shake down trial with him. Always nice to see Lexi with you. The wood does seem like a lot of work.

Thanks Ron, we had a great time. I say go for the test run. It is a lot of work but a great time as well. The saving grace with the wood is while you do need to process it more you don't need as much.

That’s one thing I could never understand all that work for one night. I love hot tenting but for no less than 5 days. The great thing about winter camping is it’s not real crowded and if there are other campers you know they are just as crazy as. One suggestion look at one of those induction fans I think that’s what they are called the small one will move some air. They set on top of the stove. I have a snowtrekker too and boy can it be a pain to setup. I’m thinking about making two nylon straps one to go between the front poles and the other for the back poles to keep them from spreading out when you put the tent over them. Oh well can’t wait for snow this year. Thanks for taking us with you.

@playhouseinthewoods6103 It is for sure a lot of work but very rewarding. I must have a short memory because I'm already thinking about an overnighter I want to do. Glutton for punishment I guess. Also planning on a multi-day in the UP. Those fans are nice, I have one for the woodstove in my cabin. Never thought about bringing one camping. Could be good for a base camp. Fingers crossed for a good winter.

@@schultzoutdoors8799 yea I know about short term memory loss when it comes to winters camping. Right now I’m recovering from my 4th back surgery hopefully by the time we get good snow my DR will clear me for at least hot tenting from my truck. Love looking out the doors at the snow coming down. Good luck on your next adventure 👍🏻

This was a really nice watch! I subbed tonight! I really like your style and candor. Cute pup too!! My four legged family member is a 7 pound shorkie. Her idea of camping is sleeping on top of our comforter as opposed to under the covers.🤣. Definitely enjoyed this! Take care and looking forward to the next one!😊👍🏼 NQU

You planned this trip well and were able to enjoy it to it's full potential, but you're right, it is just too much work for a single night. It would be glamping for several days ice fishing or deep in the woods immersed in nature. Cooking on a wood stove allows you to simmer meals, something hard to do with most backpacking camping stoves. Totally successful break in I would say. Lexi wasn't cold without a coat for the trip in and out? Your wife is right, you're crazy. Hey, nothing wrong with that. The pulk seems like the best way to travel, does its shape vs a toboggan make much difference?
@schultzoutdoors87999 ай бұрын
Thanks Paul. Lexi and I still had a great time in spite of all the work. We had planned a multi day trip to the U.P. with this tent but the winter has been crazy warm it may not happen. Yes Lexi was perfectly warm running around in the snow. Labrador genetics I suppose. The pulk worked really good but there was a fair amount of resistance due to the increased surace area over a toboggan. If I really get into this I would probably upgrade to a toboggan but a pulk is just fine for casual use.

which model of snowtrekker ?
@schultzoutdoors87995 ай бұрын
I'm not sure as it's an older model that I bought used. Pretty sure they dont make it anymore. You can tell by the two zippers for the door as they only use one now. I would say it is comparable to the 2 person Crew which they do offer.
