Great video, suggestion heat shrink the closed ends towards the open end, don't close it all up and heat shrink you leave air in the package best to shrink it down then close the end with less air in it then seal the bag up then close it off with the heat gun. there also vacuum pumping then seal with a small vacuum pump and a rubber tube seal away with most the air is gone. Maybe helpful for other veggies and fruits. Take care, one farmer to another.

Can't believe how much those tomatoes and cuc's have grown since your last video! Amazing. Well done! Do the lady bugs work best at getting rid of the pests or do you attack with LD's and organic stuff. What type of organic spray do you guys like? Thanks.

So, we have used lady bugs in the past and they did work great when we had some thrips and aphids many years ago. We have not used for a couple of years because we haven't had a bug problem.

Super informative! I'm wondering what type of lights are you running? How powerful are they? This winter and last winter I took a shoot from my black krim tomatoes and rooted them. In both instances they seem to have stalled at the same point in growth. Not getting any taller and the tomatoes not growing past 2½" inches. My soil is good and nutrients are good. So the only thing I can think is my lights aren't strong enough to grow the plant past the stage they are at. Not like your tomatoes! I'm jealous! Other than perhaps lighting, any suggestions? Thank you!
@HomegrownPassion
@HomegrownPassion Жыл бұрын
Lighting is for sure important but also remember tomatoes like the heat and don't let them get too cold at night. It will really slow down there growth.

Can you help us understand the timelines for commercial tomatoes and when you plant how many for certain yields at certain times? I guess I wonder how you manage time and tomatoes lol
@HomegrownPassion
@HomegrownPassion 5 ай бұрын
We used to plant just one growth per season starting the plants in December and growing them to end of October This year we did 2. Not sure it matters when you plant them in the greenhouse as long as you have the light and heat requirements. We plant around our sales and try to have things that other farms don't have. So, tomatoes in the winter is a big seller for us. August not so much because everyone has tomatoes. If that makes sense.

Zero-tol seems to just be a dry-base hydrogen peroxide. Do you use this in your reservoirs as well or are you using another sterilizing agent (chlorine based) for that?
@johnman559
@johnman559 Жыл бұрын
I've been considering spraying plants with hydrogen peroxide is it any good?
@CriticoolHit
@CriticoolHit Жыл бұрын
@@johnman559 Only if you're trying to combat something like powdery mildew or knock down a thrips infestation. Hydrogen peroxide is just water with one extra "Hydrogen PER Oxide". This oxygen molecule breaks off rapidly and then all you have is water and a bit more oxygen.
