November is here! And winters arriving to the mountains where we are living at the moment. In this video I share a glimpse into our every day life at the artist residency.
We are still living in a small cabin in the Norwegian village called Leveld. Bendik has been making some progress with his Cyanotype and paperart. He is also gathering some materials from abandoned buildings that he will be using to make frames.
It is still possible to forage after the first snow has arrived! In this video I share my Pine Needle tea recipe. I make pine needle tea at home on the fireplace when winter starts knocking at my door. It helps me stay warm and in contact with the forest through these dark winter months in Norway.
Check out my earlier videos if you wish to learn more about edible plants in the Nordic regions.

Disclaimer: I am not formally educated on this topic. All foraging and consuming of wild plants is at your own risk. Do your research and consult your doctor before eating anything you are not familiar with. Never eat something you are not 100% certain about. Nordic forager/Maria og skogen does not take any responsibility for harm that might come from eating or foraging wild plants.
People with rosin (Colophony) allergies should not drink pine needle tea, and consuming large amounts of Pine Needle tea over a longer period of time is not good for your kidneys. Make sure the pine tree you forage from is not one of the poisonous ones, and be careful not to harm the tree.
