Dean thank you very much for exactly the analysis I was looking for.

Glad I could help! And 3 years later, my opinion hasn't changed. I still use the Rocky convertible gloves on a daily basis, while the Hot Shot ones fell apart in early 2018 (halfway through the coldest part of winter, in fact).

Minus 20 and we are just getting started here in Alberta (I'm between Calgary and Red Deer). A glove getting stiff is a true pain. Thanks for sharing this review with us.

Thanks! The stiffening is just more than enough to be really annoying. The Rocky mitts do OK at -20 C but keep in mind that none of these styles of gloves are up to any really hard work, either. For that, a good pair of fleece-lined leather gloves are what I use, like I am today.

Thanks Dean. I've been waiting for the Rockies to go on sale at Canadian Tire

Me too. Maybe they'll go on sale in a few months. I need a new pair.

Nice review, let us know when you find a better pair that's warmer. As a utility worker in Massachusetts I need similar but warm ones.

I will - I'm looking for myself too.

I can't figure out why you need your thumb out. I found when my finger is cold the smart phone won't respond. I use a stylus.

For short periods, I find that having my thumb free improves dexterity. This works when using keys, pushing buttons, driving and so on.

For the life of me, I can't seem to find someplace that sells the rocky gloves here in the US. If someone has a link would you PLEASE forward it to me. My fingers thank you
