**Clarification on the resin quality of the warjacks. Both the Direwolf and Great Bear were made with the same resin material as the rest of the models in the box. The resin used in this core army box appeared to be a much higher quality than the models that came in the 2022 battlegroup boxsets and fell more in line with what we saw in the Dusk battlegroup preview.

Great video. I agree that is it really great that each model in the box is diverse and different. Now here is hoping they make the contents of the box available sooner rather then later as I will need a second unit of Arcanists for several lists... stat.

I am excited for the possibility of new cephelx models. I started in late mk3 but fell off cuz the game didn't like you using 3d terrain, and I LOVE 3d terrain. Coming from 40k I just couldn't do flat blob as a forest

I think before we commit to an episode on that topic, we'd like to have enough table time with the models and list building. More on What has actually worked instead of theory crafting. A few of us have had games on Winter Korps, but no table time on Orgoth or Storm Legion. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm curious about your experience or thoughts on the 3D print lines on the models. I painted this entire set for a friend and found 3D print lines on every miniature. Even after painting them the 3D print lines were still visible. The flags on the standard bearers and the shotguns on the shock troopers were the worst offenders. Do to them being so small and the print lines in awkward places there was no way to clean them up with sand paper, sanding sticks, putty, etc. Did you find 3D print lines? I personally thought the 3D printed Khador models appeared of similar quality to what another friend of mine can print with his 4+ year old resin printer (I've painted BloodBowl teams he's printed and there weren't any visible print lines after painting). That made me think the price wasn't appropriate for the quality of the models. You mentioned that each model was unique in the infantry and I like that as well. But, being single piece models with no ability to pose them greatly detracts from the hobby experience for me. While my paint scheme in a MK4 army will be different from other people playing the same faction, all our armies are identical and I think that's a real downside. So, I have been disappointed in the quality of the prints for the cost of the models all while finding the poses and sculpts are really quite good, with exceptional character and a neat style.

Hey there! I can speak on behalf of the Khador core army box and battle box that came out last year. In regards to the print lines, I don't notice them after the model has been primed and painted. There's so much intricate detailing in the different sculpts compared to previous versions of the game, it's hard to for me to focus solely on a print line flaw here and there. I've been playing Warmachine since 2006 and these models are leaps and bounds ahead of the older metal and plastic ones. I will say that in comparison to the Sea Raiders and Storm Legion starters, the quality of the resin is much better. I am glad to see PP change out formulas and promote the higher quality and more durable resin. Speaking for my personal take of the miniature hobby, the hobby part of the game is actually my least favorite part. So for me, the fact that they are one piece is a solid seller for a player such as myself. However, we do have several kitbashers in our community and abroad who do some amazing custom conversions, so I can definitely acknowledge and understand your concerns there. It's a fair observation with the new MKIV models and I'm not sure how PP will navigate that going forward. With regards to cost, I think it's a pretty good deal when you take into account that you aren't spending money on a core rulebook, cards or codexes for your armies. The game is essentially free to try. You could literally take models from any other game and test it out before spending a single dollar. This makes the game extremely accessible to new and returning players. At the end of the day, PP is a company that needs to produce and sell products in order for Warmachine to continue. If you're on the fence about jumping in, now is an excellent time to give the game a try. We're all essentially learning a new game together! The community is very welcoming and excited to see new and returning players coming back to the tables. I played the end of Mk2 and the entirety of Mk3 and have the full PoM and Merc range (both factions are pretty much fully painted so my reservation isn't familiarity or models or anything). Unit Movement, to me, fundamentally changed the way the game plays but more specifically the way I enjoyed playing and turned out to be too big of a hurtle to overcome to keep me playing. When the new models came out I was personally disappointed in quality but not the style, character or sculpts which I agree are amazing. I was just curious what you thought about the quality. I appreciate your thoughts, thank you!

Maybe I missed it but wanted to ask your opinion on the pricing. In my area practically no one plays (which kind of sucks since I wanted to get into the game), and the few stores I've asked about if they'd get it in seem to be not interested considering the price. What do you think on the price based on what you got? To me 200 doesn't seem too out of place based on what you get and the amount, but compared to a 40k Combat patrol (which seems the closest example I can think of), there seems to be a 40-ish difference (at the time of posting).

Hey there, this is Erica from the video! Miniature wargaming has always had an upfront investment in my experience of over two decades playing the hobby. Outside of PP, I play other games including GW. For me, the price seems fair given the model count and quality of the miniatures. With the WK starter, you are receiving 24 unique models including four different heads and arms for each warjack. All of the pieces minus the jacks were one single piece, which given the detailing, was pretty impressive. Looking to get in the game, all the core and model rules are free. This means you're saving a ton by not having to buy rulebooks or a codex for each army or faction. If potential players are on the fence, you could literally proxy a whole army at no cost to try out the game before making that first purchase. Additionally, Legacy armies are going for a steal on most secondhand market websites like eBay. Postings can include full armies and even painted lots! Privateer Press has some bundle deals going on as well if you're not quite ready to make the MKIV investment :) For our LGS, they work directly with PP in ordering product. This way, items aren't just sitting on shelves taking up space. There is normally a few weeks turn around, but we've found this to be sustainable for our store and game group. Sorry to hear that no one in the area seems very interested. I think PP is working on rebuilding some of the fall-out from MK2-MK3 with regards to stocking their product with gaming stores and distributers. Do you have any other metas in your area or region? It's not uncommon for regional or neighboring groups to make the trip out for a game day or to help support your local events. It was a huge help for us when we were rebuilding our community a few years back.

After I did a little number crunching, essentially getting a starter, the faction expansion, and a single warjack (to play at the max point cost of 100 if you wanted to), seems cheaper than trying to say field an entire 2000 point WH army no?
