Winter Open Water Burbot Fishing

With a lack of ice on Flaming Gorge, we jump in the boat and chase some Burbot. Fishing 20-85 feet using Pout Bombs, 4" Glow Grubs, and 2.6" LingDingers we get into a pile of Burbot in a short amount of time.

Random question… how do you navigate home in the dark?

GPS. I mark any bouys that might be between where I am fishing and the ramp. Then, on the way back, when I get close to those marks, I use a light to find the bouy and then speed on by.

I look for lots of structure. We lightly jig our Glow grubs, LingDinger's, and Pout bombs.
