2 years ago, I got 2 yellow labs, brother (scout) and sister (Lucy) as puppies. I lived on 4 acres and the dogs spent most of their day running around freely. 4 months ago we moved back into a house in a development. My babies Really miss the freedom of running and I can see the difference in their personalities. I’m sure bunny is going to love being free to explore their new surroundings. Sometimes when I watch your videos, I think about how bunny thinks about what she wants to express to you and I realize that my two companions, in their own way, always express themselves to me. I’m 66 and Lucy and Scout are the best dogs I have ever had because I’m home with them now as I retired. They learned everything so quickly.

Love the "Three Vacuum Cleaners" improv song! I find so many battery powered things that can run directly on solar panels instead, for example I use a Fubbles Fun-finiti Bubble Machine that normally runs on 4 AA batteries works great with a faux-battery shaped USB socket which I then plug into a solar panel that outputs to USB.

I watch stuff like this and in my head it’s so out of my entire realm of reality and existence, that it’s just like some sort of fictional tv show. I hope we get to see more of Tenrec - Papillons are such bright smart personalities. My pap (Teddy) used to be able to walk on top of the snow crust, sometimes he’d fall through and it was hilarious to suddenly see just his head poking up and the boundy-jumps to get out. I hope the different kind of nature proves relaxing for you. With tides, wind, wildlife, marine traffic and close neighbours, the waterfront is a pretty busy spot.

Amazing about the cat friend , and being able to describe the reason for the feeling. We don’t need to say why we have a feeling. Sometimes we do not know. Even recognising one of the reasons for a feeling is advanced, so advanced that some humans make up a reason as they cannot figure out the real one, or maybe the real one is not acceptable so they bury it in their subconscious. Anyhow, Bunny is amazing.

I grew up on old stove, open the oven door, look down there is a little round hole (thats the piolot light) you get a kitchen match (they were made for pilot light lighting cause they are longer) and you light it and stick it in the hole. Now I did read though the comments to see if someone else answered and someone did but they said they had to push in the knob to light thier old stove, I dont recall having to push in our knob. But we did on the deerborn space heater. So try it both ways and see. Our old stove when it lit you could hear it . Guess if it dont light, you will smell the fact that it didnt. Congrats on your off grid place.

Maybe the oven has a pilot light if it's gas and you have to turn it on low, strike a match, and hold it over it. Maybe watch a video about lighting old gas ovens if it applies. Regarding the rattlesnakes, yeah, in the snow you're probably ok. When it warms up with dogs in tow *don't drop your guard.* We heard from our neighbors when we first moved here that they had lived here for 30 years and they never saw a rattler. Once the drought hit we had 2-3 in our fenced yard every year for the last few years, my dog was bitten on the side of her face. My neighbors also don't have dogs, it's a different story when you have curious 4-legged family members they spot everything that moves. It looks very lovely there! I love your dogs but Bunny pulls at my heartstrings.

Please be aware that all of your dogs but particularly the wee one are all prime coyote targets. A coyotes might play coy to get your dogs away and more of the pack will ambush them. My guess is that you are not a gun person which would be my first choice but if nothing else, a non leathal CO2 pellet gun like a Bersa with a range of up to 60 feet and fires your choice of hard pellets or pepper balls and is legal to carry, especially on your own property. Alone with your dogs out there really begs for some proactive security actions.

I learn to fix things on KZbin. Learned to replace side view mirror assembly on truck (electric!), pneumatic hood struts, AND how to restart my house’s furnace after it ran out of oil and was refilled while we were out. It was 8° F and the oil company took 18 hours to bring us more oil; so much for auto-delivery or emergency status for handicapped residents! Still, learning to operate your appliances, etc should be easier with KZbin!

Hard to relate as a v happy middle class folk…. Don’t always throw money at a problem…. My way is to really think what is the real source and what would really solve the problem…. Often we buy something and a month, a year, we realize it was a huge exercise and we are back to square one. Esp with my nervous system. It is more about finding out and settling my nervous system…. Plus, the more places you own the more time u spend on your home and unpacking, setting up, upkeeping, etc. i did this and soon realized it started creeping into my fun life too much…
