Even the somple tasks need done. As someone who has to clean around handlers all the time it's important to keep the area clear. It almost looks like it needs to be put up higher or more pavers. Glad to see you cover it up that's half way to a much longer life from thoes especially in rust old Michigan.

If I don't cover it the case fills up with trash over the winter. Also I think the ice might freeze jack the fins and crack the heat exchanger.

Toots takes care of the hoses and the roof I built to cover the heat pump years ago still works and keeps the ice out of the fan. Everything else is in my shed or her side and dry. All the batteries are 40 degrees and above in the mower floorboard and the heater doing the 40's deal and the tarp holding in the heat. So , happy chores. Rain in and out with sun in and out today. The ice is the cause of most of the damage. Even if it just sits on it the freezing can jack things out of place. The rest is okay. I have been pecking away. Not doing the 12 hour working days anymore. 3 meals for 2, laundry, and cleanup is taking up a big chunk of the day. Glad your buzzer mower is working out well. Toots is taking good care of you and that is what our teams do. This week is warming early and freezing late. We will see.

Central Air! Sweet- I have window units and cover them up from the outside. Makes a huge difference on wear and tear on the components not being exposed to all the harsh weather. 😃👍

My house is surrounded by trees. Without the cover it fills up with leaves and snow fills the cabinet. It hasn't had any problems other than a bad condenser and 2 blown fuses. Not bad for 13 years of operation. We had two window shakers at the old house and I removed them in the fall.

I used to cover mine, then a friend who owned a heating and air conditioning company told me not to cover it. He said they are designed to be outside and moisture can collect inside. Also he’s seen many times where mice made nests and chewed wires. He said if you’re going to cover it just do the top 6 inches or so. Don’t know if he’s correct but that’s what I’ve been doing. I did have mice in there one year but they didn’t do any damage. Stay well and Merry Christmas Happy , Healthy New Year

Mice can make a mess and wreck things for sure. I just found that one got in the garden shed and tore up a bag of Pocahantas Coal for the forge. Now I'm going to have to find a better way to store it. After I pick up 50 pounds of coal that is. Maybe that is a hint for my Christmas present this year. 😁😎
