Winter Pruning - Knockout Roses

I live in Minnesota suburb of Minneapolis, when should I prune my Knockout rose bush? It was just planted in July.

Great information. I have pink knockout roses and a yellow. The yellow grows much differently for some reason. Any tip on that yellow very tall and gangly rose?

I'm certainly no rose expert, so don't take what I say as gospel. Some of the websites said it should be done after first hard frost. That's what I'm going to try this year. Good luck.

when to prune like this north georgia? Mine are growing very leggy and tall and I want more width. October now, any advice would be helpful. Leave as is and then prune in the spring???
