Chaotic elements come from choosing the self-serving regardless of rules. At the core, the only reason he helped was because he thought it would be fun, and Grog is generally gregarious. Scanlon was never really interested in teleportation, so there was no one from this campaign to push for it. In the end Liam's motivation really didn't change, just his interest in minor NPCs

All of campaign 2, all the development and trauma and travelling and everything, has happened over just 10 months. Seriously, all of it. They've had basically no significant break from emotionally damaging experiences in all that time, with no real down time except a few days here or there to recuperate physically. The only homecomings they've had were just momentary reprieves, and for some like Beau going home was as bad as any battle and basically no different. Tabletop campaigns, for the characters living them, are every bit as exhausting and traumatic as real life war campaigns. It's not a lifestyle that suits _anyone_ for very long, not that most adventurers survive long enough to die of exhaustion from it; typically the monsters get them first.

Matt has such a good poker face most of the time, it took me awhile to notice his expression when Keyleth gives Percy his present...he does at least two double-takes, it seems obvious he's completely surprised by the reveal of an actual, boxed raven skull in this moment. Him realizing just how next-level and deep his girlfriend's (now wife's) talent and role-playing commitment goes is a marvelous thing to behold :-)

I love how Matt throws in these little vacation type episodes after a string of huge, lore heavy, stressful combat episodes. He has a great grasp of the emotional states of his players. Keyleth is really growing on me. I came here after catching up to C2, and after hearing all the complaints about Keyleth I thought she'd be the type of character that I would really despise but the last few episodes make me feel like I really understand the type of person that she is. Sentimental and trying her best and figuring herself out, and that gift she gave to Percy really cemented that.

Eh, Keyleth is a lot les annoying than Beauregard was in any second. Nothing against Marisha, because I knew from the start I'd hate Beau's character, since the very concept of it was something I'd never remotely like or play. Keyleth is pretty tolerable. Her campaign 3 character is great tho: Laudna rocks and, while I'm sure ulterior motives exist indirectly there, it is a very funny character.

This entire episode is so adorable. I love how they took break from all the darkness and drama just to have some lighthearted fun. That's such great idea I might have to steal for future campaigns of my own. Seeing both the players and the characters get a chance to just relax and actually be happy for once was really sweet and there were some genuinely touching moments in this episode that actually brought me to tears. I just love it so much.
