I quite enjoyed this video! The way you break everything down makes it so easy to understand what to do and what not to do and why. I also enjoyed listening to the personal tidbits you shared as well! 😊 Happy I found your channel.

In winter I switch to a cream moisturizer (instead of a lotion) 30 minutes after applying Retin A (tretinoin) at night and switch from my 20% Vitamin C in the mornings to a 10% Vitamin C serum.
@TeawithMD
@TeawithMD Жыл бұрын
Good plan! You can use a 20% vitamin C in the winter as long as it doesn't burn your skin too

I used to use L'Oréal Hydra Active Day Cream and it was so heavy on my skin and it would just "sit" there and not be absorbed properly. Plus, i would get break outs often. I switched to Kiehl's and it was a game changer!

You mention not to use occlusives over actives, but don't all moisturizers contain humectants, emollients, and occlusives? If that is the case, then don't moisturize over actives?

Not all moisturizers contain occlusives; my comment mainly pertains to aquaphor and Vaseline which are pure occlusives

Hi Dr, for the last 6 months I went through extreme acute stress. My skin has lost elasticity, volume, my hair has thinned, and I have seen sagging where there was none months ago. Some of his has now began to resolve since the stress has decreased. I take very good care of my skin but I am concerned it’ll never return to its baseline state. Can it and will it? Thank you.
@TeawithMD

I'm sorry to hear about the stress that you have been going through! Stress can certainly take a toll on skin (I made a video on how that happens here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHmkk3xubqp6itE). It will resolve over time as long as the stressor is removed! It may take some time and special care to your skin

@@TeawithMD I have family member who has been a dermatologist for over 40 years, and one of the number one NO NO for them is cosmetics with fragrances, because it will lead to an allergy even if we are not allergic momentarily. Thank you!
