This video: In Newfoundland, Canada I head out in a snowstorm for a winter camp. I construct a shelter, battle the elements, enjoy good meals, drinks and spend quality time with my Cape Shore Water dog Saku, and Malamute Husky, Bear. I also talk about some skills and kit I use to make winter camping more successful. Come and join us for the ride...

PS. Big series coming to the channel in January! It will be about 6-10 parts documenting mine and Saku's 700km expedition through the remote, rugged and dangerous Newfoundland wilderness. Filmed in 2017. Please stay tuned, it's gonna be a doozy! Can't wait to show you all. Have a happy New Year.

---Big pack I used was a "MEC" Slogg HD 115L
---Cook kit was a "Light My Fire" six piece set
---Sleeping bag was a "Coleman" -17 Celsius North Rim Extreme weather bag. It's on the cheaper end of winter bags and works great. Even more effective when used with a sleeping pad. I had forgot my Thermarest Ridgerest pad but still had no issue staying warm in near minus 10 celsius sleeping temps.
--- Tarp was a "RAB" 8x10 Sil Tarp 2
--- Kettle is a "Chinook" Plateau 18/8 Stainless steel with a modified handle made of snare wire. I have been using the same kettle for 5 years over hundreds of fire.
---Adventure was filmed with a Canon 80d with an 18-135mm kit lens.
