A small nitpick I have is that Bucky should have a mask on for the Winter Soldier outfit. It would make it look more like the comics rather than the film, cover up some of MVCI's facial problems, and would make the dlc outfit slightly more distinct.

KnightMysterio It would be funny if Ant-Man’s crouching animation was just him shrinking, and teaming with Hawkeye gives them the Tag Team Special from UMVC3. Also, if we are talking "Cool black dude with guns and other cool shit" I vote new Nick Fury or War Machine. I could write a paper on why I vote these two and what they would play like. Regarding the other characters though... -Falcon's playstyle is already well represented by the two other gun characters and Morrigan's flight+projectile zoning. However, I did think of a cool aerial special where Falcon would swoop in a U shape parabola (like Spidey's web swing) while firing downwards or at an angle, similar to what he does in the MCU. This would be a unique approaching tool or mixup tool. -Scarlet Witch would be a neat character who could play like Psylocke, Magneto, or MK's various telepathic fighters. -Vision doesn't like violent confrontation, so it'd feel ironic to have him as a fighter. But it would make sense to have him work as a slow walker with a teleport/phase special and a counter to capitalize on opponent's mistakes and unsafe actions, with the mindstone on his head showing active frames of the counter.

To me WS is my favorite DLC charecter. Chris and X along with Frank West and SpiderMan are my favorite base charecters. Venom and BW look amazing too. Just wish that they gave Black Panther more than what he has....but hey. Still a good first pack with a flawed release. Makes me hopeful for the games future

They might look 3d, but many games still think and model in the 'old days' of 2d, where you just flipped the sprite around for left vs right/right vs left. People have been complaining about this sort of thing for years and everyone keeps using it variously as a sign that 'they don't care' which is false. Basically you'd have to make an entire separate sprite/model set to reflect the change-hundreds or thousands of sprites, since movement, normal attacks, special attacks, and supers would all need redrawing/remodelling and you'd have to tell the game itself to use those sprites/models appropriately, somehow. This is not easy. I won't say 'impossible', but it's extra work that is not 'needed'.

Bias will do that. We all have it, and that bias can lead to passionate emotions as indicated by how MvC fans are riled up due to the roster alone. Max clearly wanted a Capcom character this dlc pack and with Black Widow being included with no character added from the Capcom side, I think that disappointment seeped into his opinion on Black Widow.

After watching this for a bit and hearing people compare Winter Soldier to Chris Redfield, I realized a fundamental reason there can only be so many characters in this game. That being eventually, a lot of them would end up playing and looking the same. I mean imagine Cable in this game; how many moves can you see them giving him in his normal melee set that would make him feel different from either The Soldier or Chris? And if you can do that, what about the *next* big, muscled male human character? The human body only moves in so many ways, and there are only so many fighting styles; after a while, it would be impossible for them to keep up a good level of differentiation between them, and they'd all start feeling the same. The voiceovers would be the same. I notice that Black Widow uses that same 'Predictable!' line that Gamora uses when she blocks attacks. Stuff like that would eventually make the game feel like a bunch of reskinned clones of a single character than a set of individuals.

I'd say Black Widow is the second best characters. Why is Winter Soldier's metal arm is on the wrong side. For example when he's standing on the right side of the screen (facing to the right) the Metal Arm is on the right of the body, and when he's turned on the left side of the screen (facing left), the metal arm is still on the right when it should be turned on the right. It's just like Spencer's arm and the same problem was on MvC3 with Spencer.

This is the consequence of traditional 2D fighters. If WS's arm was consistent, he'd need a new set of animations when facing the other direction since metal arm dependent attacks can't just be swapped to use his fleshy arm.

I was thinking of strong teams for fun, and I think Bucky would be really good with Strider. The two of them could put crazy pressure on the opponent, and they could cover a lot of unsafe moves. Plus, I think Strider's Legion with Winter Soldier slowly walking forward with his arm out would look sick.
