Jayna you are the reason i watch this podcast! You are definitely the wisest of you 2 and the most realistic.

Jayne, I am 100% with you on the dark. I love January. I love the peace and quiet after the busy holiday season. I feel nature is resting as well. Such a cozy season.

It is Monday, February 3rd @ 6:18pm, and the sun is setting, and it won’t be dark for another 10- 15 minutes. In Georgia, February feels like the “hump day” of winter. January is our coldest month. It was 73 degrees today. I just can’t wait for spring! I get your winter blues!

Costco girl through and through! I get all my unbleached organic flour and organic sugar from there! Can’t find it cheaper anywhere else. It’s even the same as buying bulk from Azure but I only have to buy 20lbs at a time

As an ex-Mennonite I will never understand the non-voting piece. The last few years have shown how critical it is to have good leaders. I’m thankful for the Amish in PA who actually did their part to vote instead of saying “well heaven is where we’re headed let’s just stay out of politics”.
@jaynaburkholder15072 сағат бұрын
I voted!

Yes, and wouldn’t it be a tragedy to lose your right to worship God and serve him openly by choosing not to have a voice for God in politics? We needn’t think it couldn’t happen here. I am a public school teacher and was off for MLK and am grateful I was able to watch the inauguration. I was touched and elated to hear our President in his inauguration speech look straight into the camera and say that this country will not forget God.

A salesperson mentioned that a cracked or shattered oven door window can come from using the self cleaning oven too often. Has an extremely high temperature.

I never use my self oven thing because it scares me! I'm always afraid I'll burn my house down! -Megan
@jaynaburkholder1507Сағат бұрын
I've heard that too. My oven came with the house so I don't know what the previous owners did. I used self clean a few times so it could have definitely played a part 😅

You both look pretty. We have royalty here in the UK 👸love watching what the Princess of Wales is wearing. Franklin Graham prayed a powerful prayer at the service for the new president. We are to pray for those in government. Watching from England. 👱♀️

The statement "you can't legislate morality" is fundamentally wrong. All legislation is moral, moral meaning "concerning the principles of what is right and wrong." Legislation is enacted based upon the worldview of the people who pass it into law. Laws against murder, assault, speeding, even tax law and election law are legislated morality. The Bible is clear in many places that Christians should look after the welfare of the city, and rife with examples of righteous people working with the government to do good, even when God's people were in captivity or under occupation. Paul used his rights as a Roman citizen, Nehemiah, Esther, and others used their favor with the king. Certainly politics should not consume us or take us away from our primary calling, but we should absolutely be engaged in an informed way, to the extent that we are able. If we have time to vacation, have personal hobbies etc, we have time to write to our legislators about laws and issues that matter to us, and to spend 2-5 hours researching all candidates on our ballot during primary season, as well as all ballot proposals and measures.
@Angela-ep9pm2 сағат бұрын
Yes, thank you for a logical, well thought-out comment, complete with biblical examples. We can’t stand idly by and allow evil to run rampant. If we do, we then become part of the problem.
@jaynaburkholder15072 сағат бұрын
I agree. We should absolutely be boots on the ground working to make the world a better. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on how that looks, because everyone has a different idea on WHY the problems exist in the first place.

So fun to see you guys back! Love the idea of the dopamine menu! Can’t wait to hear your tips. Some equally cheesy name ideas (probably!): “Minute Refresh,” “Brainy 180” or the “Leppish Busters!”😂 (I have no idea how to spell that. it’s PADutch!)

I'd be very interested in studying that also. Just this week at Bible Study we had a discussion on that topic. Thank you to both of you for this podcast. Appreciate both of you and your candor.

Why not use a slow cooker for your host lunch? Put it on before you go for church and you are set when you get back.
@HoneyImHomemaker2 сағат бұрын
Yes i do this some, but there are so few slow cooker meals that are actually amazing! And if we have more than one other family over it's hardly big enough. Any suggestions for your favorite crowd pleasing crock pot recipes? I do meatballs and marinara for meatball subs and sometimes baked beans or green beans. . .. etc.
@kaysiahollitt2143Сағат бұрын
I normally do a pulled pork in the slow cooker then can add cornbread and coleslaw for an easy great meal. We have also done a brisket in the slow cooker and finished in the oven for the bark. Curries are also fantastic in winter. Australians are very laid back when it comes to entertaining though. And we are always down for a bbq with surprise visitors. It’s more the spirit of hospitality than the show. Basic and good is key
