It doesn't snow here in Auckland, New Zealand but it does in other regions of the North Island & South Island of NZ. It always amazes me how snow doesn't melt near a fire

Be careful about using wet rocks around the fire, they can explode if they get to hot. This is why I never use river rocks or wet rocks. A Special Forces instructor taught me this. I love your videos! 👍😃

why can wet rock explode?

@hazemdare8388 Sometimes, rocks have hollows , pores or cracks on which water or ice is present . Once heated can on occasion create steam which expands fracturing the rock.

When building a snow cave I run my hand over the ceiling. Condensed moisture dripped on you. The fires heat was blowing in causing water bubbles to form on the ceiling. Rubbing the hand across the ceiling breaks those bubbles.

Thanks for sharing. With my culture, when I see such snow and brutal winds, I somehow would want to build a teepee type structure to stay in. and away from the shoreline a bit. . I realize it takes the help and materials but just saying. I guess everyone has their own ways..... Whatever floats your boat, huh? Be well , safe and warm.
