I recently saw a documentary filmed in Japan in which someone said "These days it's getting increasingly hard to live a human lifestyle". Thank you, sir, for being a champion of "human lifestyle". I don't even smoke; I just come here for the aura of good taste and civilization. God bless you, and all the best to you and yours, ~Mike in the US

I love all your reviews and videos ...this one very especially 😊😊😊👏👏👏👏👍👍🎄 I find with Winter/Christmas tobaccos, that the descriptions, packaging and aromas great...just the flavor is often weak (eg John Aylesbury 2020) or there is almost none. Peter Heinrich Wintertabak was so far the delightful exception (so far at least), I actually found taste that matched the aroma! 😊😄 The World of tobacco has more illegitimate kids than a brothel, I give up trying to figure who made what for whom 😄😊😊🎄

Thank you for another great video even though I'm a bit late watching it. I've just returned to pipe smoking after a two year break. I started smoking a pipe as I found it hugely therapeutic and relaxing. I've returned to my pipes once again and as always, part of that includes watching your videos while enjoying a bowl. Wishing you good health during these challenging times. Thank you.

Thank you Professor! I just returned to piping after a few year hiatus. You are defiantly my favorite presenter. You make me homesick for Wertheim Am Main whet I was stationed for three plus years in the early eighties. I almost stayed in Germany as an expat. But went back to Rhode Island and my family’s business. You do great videos.....and my tobacco budget is growing. I’ve been trying to find Christmas tins here in New England with no luck. Is it a European thing? The first pipe I ever smoked was in the winter of 1979 at an artillery firing point in Graffenwohr . I don’t remember the type except for the taste of the oriental s that intrigued me. My second smoke was some English..... on the back side of a hill overlooking Hoff Near 2nd armor cavalry HQ. thanks for the opportunity to reminisce.

Hello Mark, just catching up! Life has really had me pinned down lately...hard to break away. Well, always look forward to the winter tobacco rundown...these are some of my favorite edition tobaccos, mostly because of the time of the year. I often go for the JA Winter Edition or the Peterson (but alas, no Peterson) ... not sure where I'd go this year? ... and Larsen always comes through for me...perhaps for Christmas, the JA Winter Edition. What's funny is, I was going to do a review of DTM Christmas blend this year as well, lol! Hope you're well my friend...gonna make a message soon. Take care, be safe and ...be well! Corey

Great review thanks...there is a famous German perfumer with the name Geza Schoen, he worked for Baldessarini and created "Ultimate"..a great fragrance..and the top notes are "pink pepper"..what I mean is that aromatic tobacco and fragrances sometimes share same notes.

Thanks for your monologue on this seasons winter edition tobaccos Mark. I see they are generally aromatic tobaccos, my favourite aromatic (please don't laugh!) is Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic. Thanks for the reviews. Those tins are definitely little works of art. FYI Casino Royale was the first James Bond novel that Ian Fleming wrote , I believe back in the 1950's. It was made into a movie in 2006 starring Daniel Craig and another earlier movie, a rather badly done comedy with David Niven and Peter Sellers was made in 1967, I assume that one was made to cash in on the then current wildly successful series of Bond movies being made such as Goldfinger, Dr. No, From Russia With Love etc. starring Sean Connery who as I am sure you heard just past away about a week ago at the age of 90. Keep puffin and again thanks for everything.

I have also found that especially with the Sam Gawith flakes the aged stuff becomes much much darker in color compared to the younger tins, maybe that explains the darkness of your tin compared to the Tobacco Review photo., Would it be an older tin?
@desGsicht3 жыл бұрын
Great video! I've made my own christmas tobacco this year. I mixed the dtm sweet vanilla with a little bit of dtm malthouse (another dtm mystery - they call il it a virgina with cavendish and a whisky aroma, but there is latakia in there too). By the way, here in austria the sg season flakes (we have the stanislav branded ones, maybe they are different) cost only about 10€ for 40g. They get stranger from year to year it seems. I am also very much looking forward to the vanilla video, propably hard work to go through s lot of the bad ones. Not many things range from incredibly good to the chemical taste of a "Wunderbaum" like vanilla flavourings.
