That's proper fishing. Makes a change listening to an angler talk about what he's doing and not talking technical jargon about his tackle and trying to promote gear. Excellent. Whatever happened to the old bait apron? More video's please m8.

Thank you for the kind comment 😊. No nonsense on the Specimen Series 😉. We will do our best to keep producing more episodes, have you seen any of the other Specimen Series? Lot's more episodes covering just about every species 👌 Dynamite still produce a bait apron ⬇️ www.anglingdirect.co.uk/dynamite-baits-apron?queryID=49b1ef5a2939c59e1dc39c447fe3e80f&objectID=88001&indexName=live_ad_uk_products Regards Phil,

Another quality video. Great to see the use of centre pin and fixed spool reels. Their advantages and disadvantages. There seems to be a lot of kudos around using center pins rather than which is the most efficient for the circumstances Refreshingly, this video showed that. Well done, top draw.

Thank you Andrew 😊. I absolutley love using the centrepin, but there's definatley a time and a place when a fixed spool is the better option 👌 Regards Phil,

Phil, would that spot be where my old deceased friend JW did his TV show and caught well in the weir pool? To old now to travel, but nice to see the Wensum making a roach comeback, thanks. RB

Hi Richard, John filmed that episode (weir pool magic) at Lenwade mill on the Wensum. I fished the mill lots as a youngster and often bumped into John there. This episode of Specimen Series was filmed on the River test near Ramsey not the Wensum. A cracking stretch of river 💪 Regards Phil,

@paulcollins8754 is this a free stretch? Managed to find it on maps but can't find any info. Also the grayling stretch but I can assume that's club/syndicate stretch. Cheers

What fishing but is the keepnet really needed? Get them back straight away!
@AnglingDirectTV10 ай бұрын
Hi Wayne, I wouldn't normally use a keepnet, it was nice to retain a few fish just for filming purposes. I promise they weren't in the net very long at all, and swam off strongly in perfect condition. Regards Phil,

That grayling surprised me too 🤣, although I have found the slighter bigger grayling not as lively. After a quick rest in the landing net it swam off strong too 💪 Regards Phil,

Hi Phil, cough cough we all know why we don't count maggots on trout hahaha, what it does do is tells us how healthy the river is. Our local river is so so healthy atm. My mate uses a 17ft rod I would love to get one but I still use a 13ft one.....hhhhmmm I see you use a 14ft, have you any advice on using a big 17ft one ?
@sirlancelot477711 ай бұрын
Don't fish under a tree.
@AnglingDirectTV11 ай бұрын
Hello Berealwith, It was certainly great to fish a river that was full of so many different species 👌. There's pro's and cons to using a longer rod. It's easier to control the float, mend the line, and fish deeper areas. The downside is that it would be slightly heavier, and tricky on smaller overgrown rivers. Thank you for watching again 😊 Regards Phil,

Why do u hate trout so much...
@AnglingDirectTV11 ай бұрын
Hate is a bit strong word 😉, I enjoy catching trout when I'm fly fishing. But when I'm on light balanced trotting gear they can become a nuisance often getting to the bait first and bullying other species out of the swim. Regards Phil,
