Kurrho looks very similar to a weed we had in the Southeastern US. Seems to be one of the many members of the Bidens genus. They always reminded me of the way shark / skate eggs sometimes look. Hey, thanks for talking with the Wilsons and I this evening. I'm glad we found you folks.

Hi Daniel, thanks so much for checking out the video :) And re kurrho, you have it in the SE?? Oh no! Kurrho is outside of Nepal too 😧 That’s helpful to know it’s genus name though, thanks for passing the info along! Very happy to have gotten connected to you all too, and can’t wait to hear all about it your upcoming adventure in Nepal, you guys are going to have a great time!

Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! Yes, the columns are reinforced with steel, stone and concrete. You can check out this older video where I show a glimpse of what the foundation looks like: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2fapnuJeb-Gpq8 . That's awesome you're considering doing this in Bali - I'm sure if you've got soil with the right mix of sand and clay, you can do rammed earth there too. All the best!

@@StephThorntonNEPAL May be provide me the price based on number of rooms you have if possible. like Kitchen of size X cost Rs: X . So it will be easier for me to make estimation as well :D
@StephThorntonNEPAL Жыл бұрын
@@Taragurung Hi Tara and sorry for the delayed response, I had been traveling the past few weeks! The house will cost us around $80,000 USD in the end, and it is about 2,000 square feet. Our contractor estimates rammed earth is around 5000 Npr / sq. foot., although this varies with location and how difficult the access to the location is to transport materials, etc. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!

@Lifemelodieswithanees Жыл бұрын
Hi Step, been following updates about your farm and house since beginning. I am just wondering what would be approximate budget to build something like your guys are building. Can you give me some ideas . I am very fascinated Thanks
@StephThorntonNEPAL Жыл бұрын
Hi Anees! Thanks so much for following us along in our farm/house building updates :) The budget for building a rammed earth house in Nepal varies a bit by location, since the more difficult the access the more expensive the transport of materials is. It also depends on how much materials you can source from your own land (stones, mud, etc). In our case, we did have a lot of our own materials to start and our access road is a bit difficult, but location is not far from Kathmandu. It will end up costing around ~$85-90 K USD. Hope that helps!

Thanks Stef! That’s lovely. I am enjoying vibes of your home and surroundings. How about the land cost in approx? I will be looking land similar to yours soon.
