You should always leave the out drive on the down position. Your bellows will have a curve memory position. When you let it down in the Spring it can cause premature wear, even rip. Also with the trim down, there is a less chance of water collecting.

Yes but I don't have enough room to leave it all the down and I tilt the boat trailer so any excess water that may get in the boat flows out. I do agree with you though, thanks!

I guess this is a good way to keep an eye onnthe hose conditions.

Ya, if you spend enough time jammed in there, you'll get to inspect the whole engine. Usually when I lay down in there it takes awhile to get back out LOL! Thanks Fred!

Your method is very though but rest assured come spring there will not be a oooh no moment. I recall I had a anod under the prop and on the tilt cylinders.

The very first time I did it with my old boat, I missed a drain plug. Fortunately the frost plug popped out, unfortunately they had to remove the engine to pop it back in LOL! Lesson learned. Thanks Man!

Do you still have your 230 Sundancer? I have a question for you.

How many liters of gear oil is that bottom end take. Are you able to spend a night in there? During the winter time with a heater or is it too cold and open?
@OutdoorRob8 ай бұрын
2 liters I believe. Yes, I've spent the night in the cabin and hope to do some more nights next summer. You can heat up the cabin quite nice with the alcohol stove or something to that effect. I wouldn't even bother in winter, creates too much moisture. Thanks Marc!
