It was always been a powerful tool even before patch 5.0.12. The previous patch size of Mass Recall and 200 energy for Double Mass Recall was very good. Sadly rarely anyone use it. I could be wrong though.

Cause zerg is op race that has advantage at literally everything. Best scouting, earliest starting units, best economy, cheap upgrades, fastest maxing out, lurkers countring any ground army, corruptors countring any air army, even if you lose your limit you can max out it in literally seconds. No wonder there are so many zergs among top pro players. Bugs, roaches and dogs dominate humans and aliens, nice design. Big fly can pull mothership with its tongue, cool.😂😂😂

Hello all! So, I'm not even a month into watching Starcraft casts, and one of the things that I keep finding discussed about Protoss is the Warpgate/Gateway distinction. Why aren't Gateways used? And, why are the two things so...controversial, it seems, about the meta around Protoss. It is build speed, resources, or some kind of Jank that happens at different levels of play? RSVP!

warpgates let you remax your units quicker, at any location where you have power field. this gives you more flexibility to respond to or launch counterattacks after a big engagement/skirmish. uThermal has a series on trying to get to grandmasters with gateway though, its pretty entertaining/insightful

It’s a cheap upgrade that you always get as Protoss early on in the game (some rare build orders you might not, typically air). Really the only purpose of Gateways is to balance the beginning of games where insta warpgate would create too much of an advantage in the under 2:00 min-ish portion of the game

@@zachlong5427 Being able to warp in units on the fly wherever you have pylon power is huuuuge. For a while it was all Protoss had almost, and they are still called a "gimmicky" race. Often times it is good strategy to not max out your whole supply- keep it around 170 or so and you can warp in very deadly attacks from unexpected flanks and onto vulnerable bases. Even the main base can be a flank. Maxpax almost lost the last game with a bad flank into the main using his mothership. There are many examples to see of him using his prism in general of course for awesome counters. Just watch the where/when he attacks. The game has changed a lot over the years, Toss being able to warp in and recall has been refined over years of balance and players discovering the mechanic's depth. You can use standard gateways. They are fine and reliable production, just ask the Terran and Florencio =P

@@zachlong5427 Warpgate is an upgrade and not a sidegrade. Warpgates are considered to be better than Gateways, always, in every situation. It does cost the same amount of resources to warp in units with Warpgates and to produce them normally in Gateways

I've known about winterstarcraft for years, but I just started watching him alot recently. I think artosis + tasteless together cant be beat, but I think winter is better than either of them individually, possibly the best solo caster in the genre. My two cents.
