39:00 With 35 hitpoints and no upgrades, a zergling takes 5 shots from a marine with +1 attack, and 6 shots from a marine with no upgrades. Going from 6 to 7 is a 16.66% damage increase, but effectively it becomes 20% vs the lings. Which means that you need 20% more lings to hold. Also provided the lings can get into melee range. #maths

Game 1 showed that Lambo had what it takes to beat Bunny in a macro game. So, Bunny switches to a timing-attack based strategy, messing it up a bit in Game 2, but dialing it in to near perfection in games 3 and 4. Then Game 5, Lambo gently reminds Bunny, that Zerg can do timing attacks too :)

They should have contact damage while moving against any smaller unit. Frankly they should bring back the small medium large classifications. Frankly this game needs a LOT of changes to not be what it is currently.

@@hivetech4903 SC2 isn't "going strong", there's just been no competition. The amount of fun this game is to actually play has been slowly but surely declining over the years as blizzard goes more and more into "click fast to win" regardless of unit comp. Every TvZ looks the same for a reason, and protoss has been getting shafted for 12 years because they used to be able to deathball once. And god forbid zerg ever just... makes any sense at all. Also yeah the contact damage thing was just a heat of the moment thing, that's not how I would actually buff ultras to make them viable. The way I would buff them is simply by allowing them to attack while moving.

Fun is subjective, but your complaints sound very similar to the players I coach who hit a wall at low Diamond. They think the game is about clicking fast when it never has been - they use that as an excuse to not have to learn the basics. Hint: learn macro build orders. Make Masters. Click less. 2. Protoss has been by far the strongest race at tournament level over the past 2 years... check aligulac for proof. Deathballing was boring cancer - no one liked it. PvZ is infinitely better now with Protoss actually able to split armies and not die. 3. Every TvZ looks the same? That is a truly bizarre statement... there is massive build diversity, timing and tactical variances... some players just don't appreciate the nuance of RTS I guess. 4. Ultras are in a pretty good spot & don't need a buff IMO. They are being utilized more often at the highest level of play, with positive results. Balance is looking good but if that changes over a few months maybe revisit.

I think Lambo looked a lot better than Bunny there. The score board is deceiving, as the games Lambo won were very decisive with little doubt of the outcome. Bunny was mostly trying not to lose the entire time, with some very crispy timings but something of a 1-trick pony. Sorry, only Maru is fast enough to do strictly predictable technical play and still win more often than not.

I'll never understand an Ultra/bane/ling composition vs Terran bio -- a lot of people argue that Ultra and bane are the counter to bio, but that's only contingent on how the Terran player micros their units. Bunny made Ultras and banes look like a bad idea.

If the Marauder count is not high then LBU is a super hard counter to Bio. You have a point regarding micro but its only in regards to Marauders - no amount of micro helps Marines against Ultras. I've never heard anyone say Banes counter Bio... they counter light units and Marauders counter them. Whether or not Terran can micro against them is dependent on numbers, positioning & creep.

Ultra's are a very nice "gotcha!", especially when ghosts aren't around, but they dont age well in these top tier match-ups. I agree with Winter, they're a great way to lose when you're ahead, and Lambo nearly did so there. A couple marines and a maurader stutter stepping up to 3 ultras is hard to watch, and happened several times. Its just not a winning play the vast majority of the time, or at the very least should be switched out of immediately after revealed.

Bunny, didn't seem to have concussive shells. which is pretty much a counter to zerg retreats... so 6 of those ultras or more ocld of been easily gunned down as they were able to retreat and get away several times. Demonstrates how powerful concussive shells can be against ground the aibltiy ot slow a unit down. I htought lambo was dead, but that slight oversight gives so much power to hte zerg, I was thinking infestors with fungal are so important that 30 damage, exhausts medivacs and stops potential stim abuse..... low hp units are great for one cleave from an ultra. hmm
