I just love this! Such a gorgeous piece. While I was watching your magic twists and turns I thought, 'this is like a transfer swipe - without the transfer!' As you scoop and drag the paint and layers over each other - it gives that depth effect. For some bizarre reason I also thought that it was a bit like something you could use to illustrate a children's book. There is even a little old lady towards the middle, with a pointy nose and a gold face. I think she is surfing - or riding some sort of sea dragon - yes I'm weird too - just ask my daughter!
@WinterStromArt2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like you should write them! That’s actually what gave me the idea of a transfer swipe…

The gold gives it just the right amount of “pop”. 💕 PS Your studio looks a lot like my own. 👍 Love using round canvas but I’ve been up cycling less expensive prints from basically department stores, to save money. Works well, the smoother surface helps the paint spread and I can get one inch thick without paying through the nose 👃 topping them of with epoxy resin on both traditional and fluids. Good job. Love your original techniques.

Is it ok to just use mdf that one finds at the hardware store? They won't warp?
@WinterStromArt Жыл бұрын
Mdf does warp! Smaller pieces are ok but I recommend priming both sides. Having a frame to keep it from deforming helps as well. I might switch to 1/4 inch plywood it warped less than mdf does

Jessica-can you show what your spinner sits inside of? How big? I’m trying to find a container
@WinterStromArt2 жыл бұрын
I built myself a spinning table. It is 48x48 and the border is 7 inches tall. The spinner itself needs something that is at least 37inches in diameter. If you use bigger canvasses, your pool or table needs to be big enough for that. I learned that the hard way 😅. In the beginning I used an old regular dining table with a cardboard border taped around it. I lined it with trash bags and it worked great
@sblanton562 жыл бұрын
