I never thought I could get SO emotional listening to metal music until I discovered Wintersun a good couple of years ago. Jari's Ensiferum days were amazing, amazing songs, but WIntersun takes it to another level, it's so technical but so melodic and beautiful and epic

You absolutely need another listen to this. First time I listened this, this was a complite mess in my mind. But since I gave them another chance, OU MY GOD! Everytime!!! The talent. The skill. The ”orcestration”.

I love how a lot of European metal band members often have side projects with artists from other bands. It's one big community of talented musicians and vocalists. No competition, just love. I understand what you mean with fast and calm at the same time. Wintersun is magical!

Wintersun is the only band i've seen perform an entire set perfectly live. And I've seen Symphony X and Nightwish.

No wonder Kai Hahto and Jukka Koskinen (bass) were considered good enough to join Nightwish. LOL By the way I prefer this to Time. There are live performances on KZbin but amazingly, although Jari plays guitar so well, he was only singing in the live performance that I saw.

Wintersun is really flying under the radar pretty much everywhere. From what I gather, they’re really good live too. Not quite as consistent as Nightwish but on a given day. However, they don’t have any good quality live recordings that I can find. I guess they don’t have quite the budget Nightwish does. There’s an “ultimate version” of “Way of the fire” live which is good enough for a reaction but the audio is still far off from these studio recordings. Now, I’d love to see you react to another criminally underrated Finnish band, Von Herzen Brothers.
