Agreed. I think the average song length in my library is around 6 minutes, and that's with bands like Brymir and COB in there dragging down the average.

I completely disagree with the length of the song, but everyone has their own tastes and opinions and others are used to listening and focusing on longer songs.

It is darkness and frost (intro) & Time. So actually it is 2 songs. That is why it is so long.

Both the drummer Kai Hahto and bassist Jukka Koskinen play now in Nightwish. This song is not too long. A little patience and the music opens up for better enjoyment. Not everything needs to produce pleasure right away and quickly.

I really love this kind of 'epic' music, but it's probably because I listen to allmost every single Metal genre, Opera and Classical music like Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach, Sibelius ect ect and I basically live in homestudio in the middle of my stuff like guitars, violin, keyboards, piano, electric drums ect. This song really isn’t for people who mostly like to listen to an MTV music channel. Only the more advanced music listener can pick up even some of the little details that this piece contains. For me, the length of the song at 3:30 alone makes me think “okay this is better to be a pretty f***g good song then..” because there’s a 90% chance that the song is going to be commercial soulless rubbish. There’s nothing wrong with easy music, but 3 - 5 minutes lenght itself is usually not very promising starting point. I recommend more straightforward music like: Green Day, Metallica, Creed, Nickel Back, Sting etc etc.
