The instructions state only install on driver's side, it works great two are not necessary.

Looks like you have the fx4 styleside. I have the fx4 flairside and for some reason it doesn't look like they make these for the flairside. Not sure why it's such an issue but I bought it and it wouldn't close and looked at others and said no to flairside. Grrrrrrrr

I just finished installing it; between five and ten minutes. The two bolts going back into the tailgate had to be *carefully* started, but otherwise very easy!

Quick ? for the first bolt removal it seems that my bolt is not budging... should I get the dealership to look at it or is there another tool you recomend to get that bolt off? My shoulder is still on fire from trying to remove it... Thanks

Hey man. Try getting PB blaster and spraying the bolt. Let it sit for 5 minutes and give it another shot. That will most likely break it free. PB BLASTER - amzn.to/3Fz5Y6A

@@carolinasOWNN let me know how it goes. If you can’t get it on the first attempt give it another dose of the PB and lightly tap the bolt with a hammer, the vibrations will disperse the solvent into the grooves of the nut and further loosen it up.

Nope, it is just going to be on the one side.

Just realized I installed it upside down is that ok. Still works but the silver piston side it on top

I don’t think so. The piston is designed to be installed that way to let the weight of the bed drop smoothly and evenly. You may have issues overtime….sorry man.

@@aubreylively3516 I wedged a long flat head or slim pipe at the end where the ball pin connects and then hit higher up on the pipe to pop it right out no problem.

I’m surprised they don’t provide some type of gasket. Doesn’t bolting steel to aluminum corrode over time? Hmm? Maybe the paint on it will prevent that? I’ll probably make a gasket for the plates when I get mine just to be safe. Thanks for the video!
