2 force feedback bases announced at the same expo. Finally the scene is really heating up and hopefully over priced spring and cam gimbals will be a thing of the past, just as belt drive wheels are all but gone from sim racing. So far it seems Moza might have the advantage with their more open system but I'm sure we will all be looking forward to seeing them in action.

Has nothing to do with a patent! You know how many products have patents and still have companies that make the same shit to complete! It’s called companies have been lazy and over charging for none ffb stick because people were buying them lol. And if it had to do with a patent and it just expired companies wouldn’t already have ffb stick basically ready

There were actually 3, if you can believe it. Winwing, Moza, and Flitesim.com. You wonder how long it will be before VKB and Virpil join the race. Exciting times.

There are decades of younger flight sim enthusiasts that have no idea what FFB can do because a sidewinder joystick has never been something they have experienced. Wish they would have spoken about the Super Taurus II throttle with auto throttle.

@@fabiogoncalves1519 That’s a good point and my guess is they’re very price-conscious. Having two different options would be interesting but I don’t know how viable that is for most companies with products like these.

@@stewmanji the thing is that you already have companies that offer very realistic hardware, and if you have the money, go for it! Winwing is to "try" to offer the same experience to people that don't have the money to splash. I want the MCDU, the EFIS, the radio pannel, the transponder and the intercom pannel... Which mean that I'm gonna already spend a lot of money

We’re gonna chalk it up to pure shock and amazement, hahaha. Definitely a more civilian flight sim oriented crowd though so I suppose it makes a bit of sense, but we needed the military flight sim fans in the room to make some noise!

why did the audience just sit there like stunned mullets when he announced the FFB base? Winwing & Moza bringing these to market is massive news for the flight sim community. 🤦‍♂ We have waited for basically 2 decades at this point for new FFB especially one with decent torque. I've got a vpforce Rhino so I'm in no rush to get a base but I'm hoping they start making yokes, rudder pedals & even a collective base too. Tbh even a ffb throttle would be nice. What I found since owning ffb is that the effects are cool & are good for immersion etc. but the best thing is the customization of the base. You can completely change the feel of the stick just by changing the profile, make it feel heavy or light, give it more or less dampening without adding any sticktion at all. Another awesome thing with ffb is trim, the stick will actually move with the trim (depends on the aircraft) & the absolute biggest benefactor of ffb in flight sims imho is helicopters. Real force trim in a heli is a total game changer. I'm stoked ww & moza have stepped up to the plate & are bringing FFB back to the main market. It will be interesting to see what FFB Thrustmaster brings out to match these........ in like 15yrs time🤣 TM is so slow to update or innovate it's sad to see. We just need Winwing to change the F-15E grip a tiny bit & we'll have an A-10 grip.
@stewmanji
@stewmanji 3 ай бұрын
I'm right there with you...I absolutely love my Rhino. As a former helo bubba, the force trim was the biggest thing I wanted and I haven't been disappointed. Seeing other vendors enter the space is incredibly cool and I hope they all push each other to develop even better products and innovate further. And totally agree about Thrustmaster...here we are and everyone's moving to Force Feedback and they only just realized they could make a customizable base. Maybe by 2030 they'll get in on this action. 🤣 In regards to the audience not reacting, my guess is that 95% of the crowd really didn't know what they were seeing as they fly with yokes or GA-specific gear. I've been shocked at how little crossover there seems to be between the two sides of the flight sim market (civilian vs military). Purely anecdotal, but even a lot of the major content creators who fly MSFS only dabble or never even try the likes of IL-2, DCS, BMS, etc. So, not sure if that explains all the silence, but it might go a long way. Thanks for your comment!

I have a lot of Winwing products, and I think they are very good. The FFB announcement is awesome, but for me to consider buying it, they need to have Thrustmaster/Virpil adapters. Would buy day 1 if I can use those Sticks on their base.

@stewmanji 3 ай бұрын
Yeah, that's a great suggestion. From a consumer standpoint, they would all the major vendors would would unify around one, standardized connection format. That's where Moza's base could be intriguing. They specifically mentioned aiming for compatibility with multiple base types so we'll see what they can do. The initial video footage of it from another content creator showed it working with the Thrustmaster F-18 grip so that's promising.

Nope, you haven’t missed anything. All the manufacturers were light on details regarding release dates. The 737/Airbus stuff all mentioned 2025 but no date for the F-18 grip or Taurus force feedback base. Guess we’ll just have to stay tuned for more updates which hopefully won’t be too long of a wait.

If they can fix their distribution model and hit retailers with in-stock product, they can be really competitive against Thrustmaster, Logitech and the boutique sim controls manufacturers.
@corryGT
@corryGT 3 ай бұрын
That almost certainly would increase the cost. Thrustmaster and Logitech are not even making most of the products they are releasing. I see no issues with the distribution model, but from what I hear it varies depending on where one lives.

I'm a pilot of 33 years but a heart attack has sidelined me and I sidelined myself not willing to risk any passagenger or anyone on the ground although I've passed all my medicals... So I started purchasing DCS modules and Il-2 and others...However, the complexity to just set these HOTAS and rudders up are archiac and as someone who may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer...I somehow earned Degrees in Chemistry and a Doctorate in Medicine (MD)...in addition to that, I've earned certifications to fly twin engine prop all the way up to mid-sized cabin jets such as the Challenger 300...during all of my years I have jumped out aircraft both fixed wing and rotorwing as often as I strapped in as PIC....Although I never flew air combat I was one of the guys being placed on the ground to do whatever it was we were tsked with doing...So I began having an itch that needed scratched so I invested heavily into DCS...but I wasn't in a position to purchase a $800 rudder pedals or a $450-$600 HOTAS system that even if I did I've struggled with the $300 budget system, TM T.16000M FCS...I thought to myself, am I this ignorant or just a case of not beng a gamer since my Atari Console in the early 80s....I'm still frustrated...Due to the components being modular is a massive plus.. and the UI is more straightforward for someone that has not "gamed" in decades and or who has been trapped within Apple's ecosystem for the past 30 years as well....Perhaps WinWing would consider allowing me to assist if I reach a point of comfort.... I just want to to enjoy a realistic flight sim experience without spending more on the peripherals than I do on the PC and monitor....I believe once the engineering aspect is resolved and mass production begins it is profit on the scale of furniture and jewelry and pharmacaceuticals.... WinWIng can make a huge dent and force others to lower their prizes or lose their market share...THERE IS NO WAY I CONSIDER SPENDING MONEY ON A TM A-10 WARTHOG HOTAS AND I WILL NOT PURCHASE FROM A BELARUSSIAN COMPANY (personal reasons with the Bealarussian Government not the company).... WinWIng, I would be honored to assist and be a testimonial for the influx of new players that are soon to overwhlem this genre or space...

" I WILL NOT PURCHASE FROM A BELARUSSIAN COMPANY (personal reasons with the Bealarussian Government not the company" that's just dumb, sorry but it is. Why limit yourself on what you can buy due to self imposed sanctions? Virpil isn't based there anymore but even if it was who cares you'd be dealing with Virpil not the government of the country. Let the governments of the world play dumb games we already suffer enough financially & more why impose even more restrictions on yourself.
