I love how the fandom has apparently decided, as a collective, that Bloom is fairly average, Stella is toll, Flora is plump, Musca is short, Tecna is a stick, and Aisha* is fit af, it just *suits* them! (Also, am I the only one who keeps pulling a face at the fact that, apart from Bloom, all the girls names end with an "a"?) *I can never remember how to spell her name, and the dyslexia does NOT help

Well, I think I have explanation for both things you mentioned! ♥ 1. I think the fandom sees Bloom as fairly average since she's "the normal girl from Earth" among all these fairies from other worlds. Stella is naturally fall for being both older and so related to fashion (I think everyone sees her as a fashion model, hahaha!). Flora is soft because of her soft personality, I personally see Musa as short because she had such a strong personality, I really saw her as the short-with a temper kind of girl, hahaha. Tecna is "a stick" mainly because it feels fitting for her more "square-minded" personality and Aisha is fit because in they show they mention she's an athlete and a dancer, so it just seems natural! 2. The names ending in A are very very VERY common for females in Spanish (my language) and Italian (the show's original language), so it's no wonder almost all of them have that kind of names! (One of my names end in an A, and my mom, sister, and almost all of my female friends have at least one, if not both names ending in A!)

I love the choices you made in diversifying their body types and silhouettes. Changing Bloom's hairlength and Aisha/Layla's hair texture were lovely changes and lent well to making their silhouettes more unique. And the poses and expressions make their personalities more distinct on just first glance. The fashion is also more contemporary while looking timeless.

I love how you envision bloom as this more bubbly and adventurous girl and we can see it from her clothing. It makes sense her fashion isn’t girly (nothing wrong with that) because she is a fire fairy and she’s also courageous and adventurous, this Bloom would literally be the heat of the party. I can see her just running around making troubles (silly ones) and being a wild lively girl. Then, we have the girly IT girl. I love how Stella is a bit tanned because she is the fairy of the shining sun, means that she loves spending time in the sun, getting some tan on her skin, you know? It just makes sense, but of course, she is our diva and fashionista, so her fashion needs to reflect that. The jewelries, the skirt, she’s the star of the group. Also, we have our soft girly girl, flora. I like that her fashion is more humble, it shows humility and her color palette really resembles that of a nature fairy. She’s the mother of the group, she nurtures and she natures. The addition of her flower piece in her hair is perfection. You just know that she would sit down and listen to your troubles while serving you her most popular green tea. She’s just that kind of friend you would gravitate to. And of course, we have Musa, the active girl in her group. She’d pair well with Bloom because wherever Bloom causes mischief, Musa will be there to support her (lol). If Bloom is the heat of the party, Musa is the heart of the party. Wherever she goes, party ensues. She knows how to lighten up the mood with her music and she’s the best DJ in Alfea. If you’re looking for a friend with hundreds of good Spotify playlist, she’s your girl. Of course we need our resident techno geek and nerd, and that comes in the form of Techna. Techna is the more quiet one in the group but once you start connecting to her, she can be as lively as Musa. She’s the Siri of the group, the google, the dictionary, she’s a walking encyclopedia. Ask her and she knows it. Of course, Techna is not afraid to show off her fashion senses. She’s created hundreds of formulaic fashion equations of combinations which would help to enhance her features best. And that’s resembled in your drawing of her. She’s sleek, she’s cool, she’s Techna. Tbh, I kind of thought Aisha would sport a more sporty look meaning athletic wear like tracksuit and so on because she’s the sporty girl of the group, but this is fun. Your drawing makes me think of her more of a jungle girl rather than a sporty girl, but of course she can be both. Her look is definitely perfect for a jungle trek. It reminds me of a more feminine Indiana Jones. I’m guessing that Aisha is the truest adventurous one as she looks like she’s explored jungles, caves, underwater, and more. All in all, these are lovely.

This is honestly my favorite comment of them all!!! You TRULY got them all SO RIGHT, I'm screaming right now!!!😍 If I can make a small addition / explanation, my reasoning behind Aisha's style (and the probable cause of her looking a bit "wilder" than expected) is because I decided to focus her athletic skills around the sea! So she's not wearing a tracksuit, but something more of a swimsuit! With water shoes, shorts and one of those transparent swimsuit cover-ups (I don't know the proper name in English, sorry!) to easily remove from / put on her attire for a quick swim! ♥ And yeah, definitely made her on the adventurous type! Like the type of girl who's got experience to make wise decisions on the field, in the name of the whole group! 😂♥

Oh yes! a Little trick for when you're struggling with a specific pose: Doing the silhouette first in a separate layer to get the basic shape, and then lining it! I'm so glad watching my videos can help other people to get some art tips like this! ♥

You know, growing up Flora was my fave (she still is) and now that you painted her like that I have realised how much my clothing aesthetic nowadays (specifically for summer) was influenced by her. I am on the curvier side and I literally have similar outfits lmao. With maybe more "Bloomified" color palette.

This is such a smart way of doing a character lineup, I typically doodle wiggly stick figures and all that, but I get too focused on just one character and by the time I start the next one they don’t look consistent or I’m burnt out. I really love this!

Now this.... THISSSSSSS is exactly what I love to show to my friends and say "this is how you get the job done PERFECTLY" because not only the end result looks absolutely stunning, neatly cleaned up and with all the finishing touches correctly in place. But also the referencing is perfectly done, you get to see all the creative process through the video, all the various ideas you tried and the choices you made. I can tell there's a lot of research behind this. And MOST IMPORTANTLY: it tells a story ! Just from looking at the girls you can already decipher their personality, their preferences, how they can interact towards one another. It's a perfect example of "show, don't tell". Also the different body types and sizes adds a lot to the fantasy and closeness to the viewer, makes them feel a lot more human, alive. From the start to the end it was such a delight to watch, I would watch this version of the show 10x times. Thank you for sharing !

Honestly, I completely agree with you! If I were to re-do these redesigns today, I think Aisha would be the one I'd change the most! I guess I wanted to do a big differentiation between her everyday wear and her princess attire (which you can find at my Instagram, @geminineart if you're curious!), where she's much tidier and has a braided hairstyle! But I can totally see your point, specially for an athletic girl like Aisha!

Okay, to be honest, this is the best Winx redesign I have ever seen so far, but the downside is just that Tecna looks too manly, I really don't see her feminine side, I like the idea of her being a girl boss or something but she looks more like a man, and Tecna, in the original Winx series you can clearly see her feminine side, I like it but you should've made Tecna more lady-like. But overall it's really great, you did a great job! though I actually like the fact that everyone of them has different body types, but you know what I mean.

I indeed wanted to remove all feminine traits from Tecna, since in MY version of Zenith people don't have the same perception of gender as us humans, and hence don't really have fashion traits associated with gender! Love the Body diversity, just (personally) I think it's a little too much to make flora short and the one with more plumper silhouette. She can be a little taller and have a plumper silhouette too, she look like a child, I know they all are supposed to be young but some look older than the other like (Techna-Aisha & even Stella) compare to Bloom flora and Musa who look like little kids. It's not cause of their size maybe it's more to find balance between their faces, accessory or I don't know. But again it's just my personal opinion, they all look beautiful, love the colors, the details etc..

I partially agree with this! Mainly in the fact that it's not about the height, but about the facial distributions and clothing choices. I did notice, some months after finishing these, that some of the girls looked too old compared to the others (I can excuse Stella for being older/wearing makeup and Tecna for her unique physique, but Aisha was the least unintentional!), and I'm definitely trying to fix it for the next version. My interpretation is that when she gets to Alfea she's more childish/wilder, and then she gets influence from her friends (mainly Stella) and goes through a more fashionable phase as she grows up! So you'll probably see her in a more girly outfit when I draw her older (Enchantix) version! ♥ Also thank you! ♥

I think the art style is really pretty, however i felt each character was so extremely stereotypical to the extent that they didnt feel unique despite being diverse. I also felt that their fashion didnt fit the girls at all. It was also diverse, but the winx girls are known to be all about fashion, whether they are into sporty, elegant, cottage core, steam punk or so on and so forth, their clothes almost always look like theyre going on a runway, i felt that their outfits were way too simple for them.

You're free to do your own versions if you feel so strongly about this, tho! ♥ And as I side note, my main approach to these outfit designs was precisely that not all girls have to be fashionable all the time. I feel that was a mistake they did in the og show, specially when they decided they all had to dress up the same in later seasons (Talking about being stereotypical and loosing their uniqueness!). So eventhough you don't like it, it was a very much intentional choice! ♥

I feel like these are very kid friendly outfits imo and would do okay for the show. I love the aesthetic and I love Tecna's outfit because it makes sense. I think for my personal taste, I'd put them in more y2k styled type of fits and make them a little more "mature/sexier" like how they were in season one if that makes any sense💀, especially for Flora with the hoops and money piece giving us the full soft floral latina fantasy. I just love to see them in more 'high fashion meets casual' type looks. Overall, great job ❤️

I'm glad you like them! Though I was very intentionally avoiding the "Mature/sexy" look for these redesigns, since the girls are around 15-16 in here. (Except maybe Stella, who I can see as the type of girl who'd like to look more fashionable/mature!) And abour the "latina fantasy", sorry but (probably because I'm a Latina myself) I REALLY don't like that vision for Flora. I wanted these girls to felt like actual girls, not stereotypes for someone's eyes! I removed the money pieces because I didn't felt my version of Flora would dye her hair, but kept it as a natural part of her fairy version since they were so iconic! ♥ So she kind of has the best of both worlds! ♥

I feel like the clothing makes the characters look a bit more childlike ( aside from Tecna and Stella Flora looks plump) Tecna looks like a Guy and Layla/ Aisha hair is too much maybe can have some aquatic accessories or change her appearance and outfit to have a more sporty outlook
