Kind of ironic how the league that gave the least amount of f*cks about human life is also the only league that shows the pilot being rescued from the ship's wreck.

Like I said before, "Contender eliminated" is so soothing to hear, except when it's happening to you. I'm also hearing that it's possible to get eliminated through hazardous surfaces in Fusion, such as the active caldera in Florion Height Course 2, and due to a glitch, course 2 of Katmoda 12.

I agree with you. And I actually forgot about the hazardous surfaces in WipEout Fusion until you mentioned it. Also there's a glitch on Katmoda 12 Course 2? I didn't know about that 🤔

In my opinion PS3's WipEout HD / Fury has the best explosion scenes. Simple yet well made (regular races). I remember getting scared because of how loud the explosion was compared to the muffled sounds when you're low on energy. Especially when playing on a proper surround sound system.

2097/64/Pure/Pulse/2048 : Are the authorities just gonna ignore the pilot also exploding within the ship (lack of indication of any bodies surviving)? 3: I guess these ships have programs within them that shuts their engines down, as if removing them from the race. No death or explosions. 3 Spec Edt.: Ship shuts down from engine fail. Fusion: Ship violently explodes, leaving the pilot with no protection from the explosion or opponent ships casually bumping to it (like that case with Auricom when the pilot is being rescued). HD: No ship explosion. At least the pilot can still be recovered; unless the craft goes off track, then RIP pilot.

The explosion on Zone in Omega collection one is so weird, it slowly turns into a metallic ship, then a simplified, wireframed version just ilke in HD and 2048 (though in 2048 it's less noticeable), but the absolute lack of effects when the ship explodes ruins it. At least on 2048. the ship explodes with a pretty nice explosion effect.

0:10 and 2:07 sounds that still haunts me alarm going off at low energy in fusion is just anxiety 😅

They managed to downgrade *both* versions of Zone Mode. Crazy.

I know right? I still can't understand why they removed the special effects for the zone mode elimination scene in Omega Collection... weird. It's not very important I guess, but it should look the same (or better) than the PS3 version, not worse lol

Because in the other games, your ship would explode like fireworks so you still get a satisfying payoff (Regardless if the chassis or the pilot survived or not). In 3, you simply goes limp.
