I spoke with the owner of E-Cells today. The specs on their bike should be identical. Besides the slight differences you mention in the video, they will only have the blue, gloss black, and matte black availible. Bikes will not ship until April, but with your discount they will be less money. In my case, I would save approx $550.00 with the price drop, free shipping, and free insurance. Downside is this bike is new to the company. There are no online reviews to see.

Im in the exact same spot. The size is the only thing stopping me from getting a Wired Freedom. I know I could ride it but I dont really want to compromise with something like that. Theres alot you can change on a bike except the size

Some of their bikes do have nice components, like Magura MT5e quad piston brakes with 203mm rotors. They also have higher end derailers than what most eBikes ship with. Their 5k price models are also dual battery with a combiner (total 45 Ah of battery capacity, with Panasonic cells). My dual 1kw motor bike I have (Zeegr S1) comes with Dyisland dual piston brakes with 160mm rotors.

​@@addertooth1it looks like they've upgraded them a bit, their old bikes had the same frame and i think fork too as the Freedom although I don't think they were branded RST forks. The new bikes look more like an AWD Ranger frame(same integrated battery) and similar style fork, 9 speed Shimano Deore is nice to, not 4,600 nice but nice.

Cool bike, but there are some differences. The motor is "rated" at 1200 watts (HENTACH REAR HUB MOTOR -Type R120060V1200W), but the graph shows that at full power they are feeding it roughly 2400 watts with the same max 500 RPM (no load) rating as the Wired Freedom. The 40 Amp controller is not mounted inside a plastic box, instead the Aluminum case is directly exposed to air (probably to manage heat better). Like the Wired Freedom it is shipped at a class 2 bike, and the user must enter the settings to unleash maximum power. Low end torque is about 146 newton meter (NM), with the motor running about 450 RPM, it drops to 39.6 NM. It uses the same Tektro brakes as well. Assuming 500 RPM that is 40.88 MPH, but the 500 RPM rating was a "no load value". Assuming 450 "loaded" RPM this puts the bike at about 36 to 37 MPH. The extras appear to be bosses for the addition of a water bottle, and a front basket.

I don’t think Wired are in trouble to be fair. They’ve been struggling to keep up with growth as it is. First to market and people don’t want to perceive themselves as riding clones so within that they’ll probably make some sales, but buyers are more likely to buy into a known quantity rather than an unknown one. Plus going for the Henry Ford school of “you can have it in any colour your want as long as it’s blue” is going to restrict their sales even further.

I like that this bike has weld-on mounts for a water bottle on top and for a rack in the front on the frame. It remains to be seen about long-term reliability, and most importantly, after the sale support.

They (E-Cell) are going to have the same problem as Wired. No serviceable or consumable parts such as drop hangers and wiring for example. I am sort of stating that as they don’t have anything listed for Accessories (including batteries) on the E-Cell website. The Pre-order is basically same theme as Wired - Get the money up front commitment then have them shipped over. The way Wired is heading their downfall is post purchase support (parts). I have been waiting on a simple drop hanger and gearset under warranty for 3 months (shipping damage) and this is after speaking with Wired owner twice.

Wired should be able to tell you what derailleur hanger number or model it is. And there is a place that sells them all. Unless its a proprietary hanger- then yeah that’s not good. As for the gear set they are widely available. It shouldn’t take months to fix a derailleur. They are being lazy.

I am 5'6" with a 29 inch inseam. The wired bike frame is too big for a person my size & they don't offer an alternative frame size. They only offer a step thru that doesn't have the same suspension. This ecells bike offers a smaller frame size to accommodate shorter riders. With the same specs. as the wired bike & free shipping this is a no brainer. This is a much better deal. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Would never have known about this without your review

I’m still satisfied with my choice of the wired having the 1500 watt motor over the 1200 on Ecells and 138nm of torque on wired vs 120nm Ecells… but hey let’s wait and see how genuine the parts and accessories are that they use.

Very interesting and will be curious to see how this all plays out. They definitely did a different frame completely but lots of the design from wired. I really do like the addition of the bottle mount on the top tube. The differences I see are aside from the mentioned bottle mount are as follows, mounting bosses on the front of the head tube but no idea what there for. Looks ugly left bare like that. The top tube is a single size tube and they added gussets to beef it up. Wired top tube flares out and looks cleaner like it was meant to be. More modern. I do actually prefer the look of the cantilever suspension arm on the Ecell. While i do think the mounting of the saddle rack is sweet and prefer the idea of a protected light like Ecells did, the Wireds rack seems nicer built and rugged. It is nice that the Ecell has a longer rear fender but the finger kind of piece that comes off the top of the chain stay to hold the rack is not eloquent. Those of us that don't like running fenders would want this long piece cut off. This is also less space and most likely hit the control box like the gen 1 wired freedom. Big downside for suspension travel. Moving to the connection of the swingarm at the rear wheel its a multiple component different mounting and pivot than the freedom. Looks more complicated but who knows how that will turn out. I do thing that Wired version looks less complex and looking more like a hard tail in this area. The 46t crank while yes it can be changed is absolutely necessary to be changed since the freedom has a 56t. Ghost pedaling will be a big problem. If you have the tools then its gonna be roughly $75 for parts to swap. New crank and gonna need a new chain. There goes that coupon code or half the cost of our $200 shipping. Interesting that one calls out a Hentach motor and the other says Hengtei. Both seem to be the same company. I wish that Ecells would looked to improve on the fact these bikes shoulda came with a 200mm front brake and a more secure front light. Time will tell and i can't wait for more reviews.

Too many people in our wired group say that your using the exact same frame as the wired freedom so my comment was to clearly state that the frames are in fact different. Your site does say that the crank is 46 but was mentioned it was a 56. 56t would be better from the experience with the freedom. Changing to a sturdier front light mount would be awesome and changing the front brake rotor to 200mm would be a great upgrade too. Otherwise very sweet and competitive bike. My buddy is looking for a more mountainbike style ebike to pair with his super73. Excited also to see how the smaller frame is. The large frame of the Wired turns away shorter riders. I love mine but its also the older style first gen freedom. Cant wait to see more from your 5 star

I didn't see any information on their site regarding speed or settings on controller to allow "off road" power and speed. ie. 40 mph. I'm sure they will get that up when they actually have a bike and not just a mocked-up/photoshopped image which is what the picture looks like especially with that sticker. Maybe the competition with Wired will keep these bikes affordable and increase chances for refinement of features such as torque sensors, better derailer/shifters, etc. And for the record I just put together my black Wired Freedom and am very satisfied so far.

At this moment while I click on this video, I'm literally waiting for UPS to deliver my new Wired Freedom... 😆 I could feel mad that this clone could make the price of the Freedom drop before I would take advantage of the discount, but I believe the higher quality original is worth the price. Also, I just checked their website and no specs of top speed or range are listed yet so maybe this E-Cell bike is not even on Wired's radar yet.

I’ve been researching it. The more important differences are the controller is solid mounted, and is filled with a heat conducting resin that makes it waterproof and allows it to run cooler.. the frame is also a little bit heavier, even though it looks virtually the same. And the company offers some excellent upgrades.

I ordered the E sells. However, my biggest concern is the rear rack. I like to use bags. The larger rack on the wired bike with the protruding rear light will be visible even with bags on from the side. I feel the East sells rear light will not be visible. I will be modifying this because I think it's so important. I do like that these cells bike has a mount for a front rack and currently comes with a free front rack also. My only other large consideration is what did the wired company do to modify the motor to make it more powerful and maybe more reliable? If I was truly convinced that it was more reliable I might pay more for the wired. I do live where I could go pick up the bike from wired but it's a pain

Ecells website says there is no tax, but the tax* came with an asterisk and could not find what they were referring to. So, if there is no tax it could be another savings of $150 or so if you live ... let's say California. $100 off, free shipping, free front rack, and no tax, seems pretty sweet.

Freewheel? No, it's a cassette. Freewheel is the hub type.

Hey call e-cells up before you buy and make believe you did and have some problem. IDK make some issue up that sounds believable. Maybe chain keeps clicking back and forth between 2 gears or what ever. Derailleur adjustment? Can you help? So to see how customer support works before you buy? Is that bad? Or not? I would even that price is a good chunk to gamble with!

I have been looking at the wired freedom for a while now . I like that it looks like a bicycle not a moped style . So basically this new bike is from a company that’s been around a while, so do you think it’s a safe to buy from a company like this compared to Wired ? Those are the nominal ratings. Both motors peak at 2400 watts since both controllers are 40 amps.

I certainly would not say this is the same bike as Wired sells. One quick look tells you its not the same bike (at least not the one shown) when clearly the frame being shown is very different (perhaps its the smaller frame and the larger one is in fact the same) the frame looks to be of a lot cheaper construction with added bracing on the top tube, where Wired uses a custom made tube, also the welds appear sloppy but this could just be a one off thing. In addition it has very different rims which may be a good thing or may be a bad thing. Lastly the motor is claimed to be 1200w nominal which if not a misprint would indicate they are using the previous model motor not the 2024 spec motor. I agree completely with your opinion on the pricing of some of their models.....almost 6 grand for a dual motor run of the mill bike is absurd.

Ok couple points. Wired is a small company started in a garage, the owner is quite a guy. They built that brand and forced the price point down on sooo many bikes…. It seems disloyal to offer a discount code to help undercut wired. This new company can kiss my ass. Compete with your own concept bike. Knock offs shouldn’t be bought on principle. We need to get behind the little guys in this industry right now, they keep prices down and force innovation.

Although I like competition, wired customer service is just to good, that’s worth alone the shipping difference, The bike from Ecells is not even established, the website is like buying from china very vague, to pay that much money now from ecells reminds me if your buying from a private party than a company, who knows if they will exist for the life of the bike. Just seems like your getting a knockoff, usually a well established company as you say has been around for awhile would have many reviews on all there bikes, you can hardly fined any consumer or KZbin reviews on Ecells, it’s just not worth the small savings, I would definitely choose customer service and establish more assuring company like Wired over Ecells, it’s a no brainer for me.

Used with there AWD models, Different and stronger rear swing arm, "Typo " It will have 56 tooth chain flywheel, Wired is a 18.5 in frame and Ecells will offer 17in and 19in frames, Blue with matt black rims, Gloss Black and matt black rims , All Matt black.Making a statement that there's !00% markup is so irresponsible when you didn't even take the time and actually look at what components are used on the other AWD Models! I have an Ecells AWD and the build quality far exceeds the average mass production bikes out there. You have a responsibility no matter the brand to share hard trueful facts and not be biased in my opinion. Thanks

While I agree with alot of what you say and I called to get the specs of this bike FWIW its a 17 inch frame they do not offer a 19 all other components are the same except the wheels have cut out which the vloger? Missed, it will not be able until April, the author missed the warranty details. He is right about the mark up most likely as they are not making anything about revolutionary outside of one controller for the AWD bikes. They often drop retail price by 1k so 50% mark up makes sense....

The frame, the suspension, etc. They've had 35 mph bikes 4-5 years ago! How long has Wicked/Wired been around? That rear suspension link looks just like the link in other cheap ebikes that will bend if you lean hard on the bike in normal riding. If you look at the pics of a Wired bike that link has surface contours to increase its strength. I would avoid this bike 100%. Wired looks superior.
