Great video! We actually shared this on our Facebook page because it’s so full of info that’s just not common knowledge. Thank you! PS also noticed your reply to someone else that jerkbaits are the closest thing to fly fishing for spin anglers. We do both in our household and your comment is right on!

Fantastic video. These are the kind of details I've been looking for to step up my jerkbait game. After all these years, it's still the only technique/lure that I don't have a ton of confidence in. Last year I made great progress though, and I hope to get a lot better this season. And this video is certainly one part of many that will help that.

Glad to hear it. Jerkbait fishing is an art form and the closest thing to fly fishing for the rod and reel angler. Good luck this year.

One of the reasons I've had so much success in the winter on a shadow rap deep it sinks slowly.
@robertbrost77775 жыл бұрын
Hank, my Megabass 110 Junior has a slow rise to it. I'd be concerned if it slowly sank in the 3-5' water I use it in. I'd be worried that after 5-10 seconds of pausing, I'd be hung on something on the bottom!

Hi Robert, there are a lot of quality "Castable" fluorocarbon lines on the market. Def check out the Sufix Advance Fluorocarbon. Seaguar Tatsu or Yo-Zuri Top-Knot are a couple of other solid options.

Great video! I can never catch a bass using jerkbait. I have stained water here to know what color to use on cloudy day. Also I don’t see my paying 25 bucks for a lure with treble hooks. That’s expensive and I don’t find it worth the price of megabass jerkbait.
@americanstriper86664 жыл бұрын
2:08 why don't you use anti-reverse on your reel?
@richardbossman98754 жыл бұрын
It’s probably used to help land fish on really light line. Back-reeling can protect light line from breaking by not relying on the drag which unless it’s a hyper smooth one, can stick slightly when the spool first starts to spin.

Is the vision 110 tuned to suspend in a specific temperature water?
@robertbrost77774 жыл бұрын
My Vision 110 Jr. has a slow rise to it in 40 degree water. The rise rate will vary with water temps. Hope that helps. I've found very few jerk baits that suspend perfectly right out of the box. Storm Suspen strips work great and, I have found that their adhesive is quite adequate thus not requiring crazy glue to adhere.

Which colors in the silent version are the ones that dives to 4-6 feet? I'm asking because I ordered a Megabass Vision 110 Silent in the Ghost Tiger color but it was the silent riser that dives to only 0-2 feet. I was trying to figure it out but I got stuck because there's no clarification from the silent version that was release in 2018 to the silent riser.
@Wired2Fish5 жыл бұрын
Hi James, Randy was fishing the Oneten Silent with a suspend strip on the belly and sometimes adds a second split ring to each hook hanger to help the bait achieve the slow sink rate explained in the video. Extremely long casts and line (6lb fluorocarbon) are also key to achieving max depth with this bait.
@MegabassAmerica5 жыл бұрын
James, the SILENT RISER is not to be confused with the ONETEN SILENT. We designed the ONETEN SILENT so that it behaves just like the original Oneten--only with fixed balancers so it is deadly quiet to target wary bass and excel in tough conditions.The SILENT RISER has a head-up posture, floats, and runs shallower than the original Oneten (as you noticed). It's a jerkbait built for the Japan market that we don't carry anymore. Sorry for the confusion!
@m2m-minutestomidnightbassi9255 жыл бұрын
You got the “Silent Riser” different bait that the 110 Silent. Actually it’s normally only a JDM bait but the hook up tackle sells them here. All the major etailer outlets have the 110 Silent and if you don’t want your Silent Riser post it on the BBC Boards under baits for sale.
