I had an old 2017 copy of the ZA12 and it's very noticeably back heavy so I've sold it, since the ZA13-DW is shorter in length, is it well balanced?

for the past year, it has been completely impossible for me to follow up and keep track of the naming conventions in the mice industry, but i know the mice are getting really really cool and i want them all, but unfortunately am too broke to buy any lmao

I totally feel you on this one. Zowie naming convention (crash course) Years ago zowie collaborated with 4 pros to make their shapes, they used the pro players initials to start the model name for their mice. ZA (back high hump claw shape) S (back medium hump claw/palm shape) FK (mid low hump fingertip/claw shape) EC (ergo shape) the next number (ZA"13" / FK"2") relates to the size of the mouse - albeit the number convention makes no sense, they normally relate to small medium and large. the next letter is the revision of the shape, so they all started on A (ZA13-"A") but over time they made slight improvements to the mice, and this release brings us revision D (ZA13-"D"W) and the "W" at the end of the model name, refers to the fact it is wireless. It saddens me that I can't help you with the money situation!! Take care dude

so strange that you're saying they told you to post this on the 18th. i signed up for the "email me when it's in stock" thing on their site. they emailed me on the 10th and i ordered it and received it like 2 days later, it's the best mouse i've ever used, hands down(i own 5 wired fk mice and i have the most hours on FK shape) only thing i really don't like is the coating. my hands are too rough/dry for it. i'm debating polishing it a bit so it's like older FKs

I can palm my fk2 za13 za12 ec2 and ec1. with 18x11 hands. But 7 years ago when i 1st tried fk2 it was too small to palm but nowadays i had many smaller mice and somehow learned to palm them all.

Take a look at Zowie on Twitter/X, they have a tonne of information on this - they're allowing a certain number of people to upgrade their dongle for free. It is not a firmware upgrade.
