Does the usb cable have to remain plugged in? I suppose you now have to charge your phone through the cigarette outlet?

Hey Brian, for the scratch you could try using a screen protector to disguise it. Sometimes the adhesive/sealant can diffuse scratches underneath. Your best approach was applying it before you removed the unit, so if anything got scratched, it would be the protector, which is easy to replace. To actually remove the scratch might be challenging. Something such as plastic welding, or a windshield repair kits to bond the material while keeping it translucent, but the combination of material and age may make this pretty hard to not screw things even more. Also, when you press skip, does the music changes instantaneous as over cable or does it has a small delay as well? I take a delay (under a second) exists. And how do you pair the phone with the stereo? Is there a custom interface or does anything shows up on the car settings? I use a small USB dongle that adds a custom UI that pops when initializing, but it only lasts a few seconds during connection to my phone - giving me a chance to pick which device to connect to CarPlay, if mine or my wife’s.

There's an interface when you boot it up that lets you select source or pair new phones. There is a small delay.

Sick bro! I don't see one for a 2014 Ford Taurus so I'm outta luck there. No biggie though

I use a USB dongle with my Sync 3 Ford that works the same way and causes no screen scratches 😂 (❤️ Brian). CarLink or something like that.
