Centerlock only for me. I'm guessing the 'tons' of riders who's CL rotors come loose while riding also have threaded BBs and cassettes that fall off too..... and don't get me started on all of the F1 wheels that fly off every lap. The horror!!

3 foot long butthairs would not create a ponytail, it would make a poopytail. I'd be willing to try wireless on the back of a bike that I want to have 360 bar spin ability. (Front hydro through the fork.) (Obviously singlesspeed and rigid post, like a dirt jumper or full AXS style dropper/shifter.) I have inherited a couple of 6 bolt hubsets and they are okay, but Centerlock is best. (Unless you need 220mm eBike rotors.) I've seen guys lose bolts from their 6 bolt IS setup, but I have NEVER had a CL come loose in 7 years of use, even using silly color anodized, lightweight CL fasteners. Injinji toe socks are a life saver on long hikes. I wish they weren't PRC made. "Too much" cow poop implies that there is a non-zero amount of cow poop that is appropriate. 💩

I would never trust wireless brakes. Especially going full downhill at 30mph while near a cliff, or even no cliff. I would just never get them.

Worst ride in our area is hands down New Millenium loop. lf I wanted to go up for days with no payoff there is a blue pill I could take instead of riding this. I'm gonna guess that hands-free braking will become a thing similar to "one pedal" driving in current EVs. Also, maybe free hubs that have energy recovery and allow for smaller lighter batteries. Cars to this day still have hydraulic brakes.

Electronic assist hydraulic brakes would be the evolution if anything was to happen that way if the electric part of them failed you would still be able to pull the brake and stop

In cars the only electronic part is between pedal and actual brake controller. The actuation is hydraulic. In order to make it electronic you would have to have something to push/screw piston in and pull/unscrew piston back out. With hydraulics once pressure is released pads separate on its own. For bikes I guess you can have something along the lines of cable actuated hydraulic calipers where the brake cylinder is part of the caliper. You could replace the cable part with electronic sensors/actuators, but this will be bulky/ugly, heavy and very expensive.

If electronic brakes weren't terrifying, I see a benefit in using them for DH racing. The lack of physical connection between the lever and caliper will allow you to reduce hand fatigue, since you can completely remove all lever resistance

Ebrakes are coming! TRP HY Road are cable actuated. Add a powerful small motor to do this or have the motor simply open/close which pushes the fluid into rotor. It's coming

Tons and tons of cars are throttle by wire and brake by wire but agreed, not sure it has an application in the bike world, not to mention the complexity and weight that type of system would add to a bike.

wireless brakes... nope, knee pads... about 50% of the time, depends on the conditions, I've gotten used to them, same thing for gloves

When you look at where bikes came from, all mechanical everything. Hydraulic brakes are night and day better over cabled brakes. I don’t see wireless brakes as a problem needing to be solved which I know is a shot to some engineers hearts.
