Wiring a 3 Position On/Off/On DPDT Switch

Nevermind. I got the help I needed and figured it out. If you're not doing a crossover, which is not my case, all you have to do is put all the positive wires on one side, all the negative wires on one side, and that's pretty much. Say for example you have a 3s 18650 battery pack with BMS for a DIY induction heater. On the BMS, you have a -ve output and +ve output. So say for example you need to power a blue LED and you only want the blue LED to turn on when the slide switch goes to the other side, or battery powered mode. Two negative wires and one positive wire on the BMS from those -ve and +ve outputs. One negative goes to the NC, or NO terminal on the slide switch. The other goes to the negative of the blue LED. The positive wire also goes to the NC, or NO terminal, on that same side. On the COM terminals, you have a negative and a positive wire. Those go to a MOSFET module, and the MOSFET module powers all the other components of the induction heater. But on the COM terminal where the positive is, you have another positive wire which goes to a 20K ohm resistor for the blue LED. On the other side of the slide switch on NC or NO, you can attach the positive and negative wires from a DC power jack like a 12v one or a 1a 30v one. So the way it works is you have the induction heater powered by DC input, battery powered, or off (On-Off-On). And that's pretty much it. Basically, just have all the positives and negatives on one side. You can have multiple wires on the BMS from the -ve or +ve outputs or from the COM terminals of the slide switch to power other things such as a blue LED or supply power to the MOSFET module to power the other components.

If you jumped the 2 middle lugs, would this turn into an on-on-on? Or would that interfere with the 2 on positions?

Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a question. I’m building a variable speed controller for a dc treadmill motor. I want a DPDT rotary switch to select between forward and reverse. I found some nice rotary switches called 2NO 2NC . It seems like that’s what I want but not sure. I also have little indicator lights that I want to come on depending on the selection. Green for forward and red for reverse. Will these switches work and how would I wire them? eBay switchtools 19-22 mm 2/3 position selector. Thanks, Paul

Hello, what if i want to connect together a 2 motor. I want to make like this. In left position Turn on Only Motor A. In middle position turn on Motor A and B. In right position turn on only Motor B. Motor A and B have same power source and same voltage Is it possible? If yes i have a plan only wiring the + cable in switch And the - not go to switch. But i dont know how to wire it. I think only need cable jumper for activate Middle connection for turning on Motor A and B

Yeah but that wasn't a great use out of a DOUBLE switch at the same time, switch. Put some more planning into your life next time and stop misusing these items.
