Thank you. I am making a short film and was needing a movable cannon mounted on top of a car for a scene. It needs to be able to move around and then park facing straight forward. I can’t see the cannon from inside the car, so the park feature is perfect! You are a gifted teacher, I subscribed to you.

Just found your channel. It came up in my feed when looking for wiper motor information. Love your presentation, antics, and a very simple explanation to how a wiper motor works/functions without getting into all the technical jargon. Very entertaining🤣😀 You explained it much better than most of the automotive guys out there 👍who attempts to explain it by using wiring diagrams and more technical terms to where non-technical people would not understand. I do understand what they are talking about because I do have a similar background. Awesome job. I look forward to binge watching some more of your videos. New subscriber here👍😎😀

Great video Rachel, you are beautiful as always. I haven't thought about using wiper motors in a while. Such uses as space ship orbiting, ferris wheel, merrygoround etc.., all depending on size n scale. The use of the speed control is a winner. I used to always, as you shown, regulate the speed with voltage.

Glad I found you as most others actually wiring things for cars, not what I'm after! I have 2 wiper motors that I'm currently trying to get to work, so I'll take your advice and see if i can get my dancing santa to work, for starters. I have a speed controller with a switch already attached. Of course it came from China so no tech specs or instructions!! Thanks for clearing that up mostly. I am wanting to power mine with a 12V battery though. Should I change to maybe a 6V one?? Only 1 speed controller and 2 motors. Of course they are from a hyundai accent, my mum trashed her last car after letting her licence lapse, so I raided it for parts before it was collected by wreckers. One is main wiper motor with 5 completely random wires, the other is the rear hatch wiper motor and only has 4 wires, i assume 1 is still park, so I gather it will only offer 1 speed option. Any guess or insight much appreciated. I subscribed already 😊

23:45 connecting both the run and park wires caused it to jerk and then not turn on immediately because its causing either the safety ptc or the power supply current limiter to trip from the stall current. That ptc self resets but it will eventually blow. Not ideal.

Rachel, I am switching and updating my motors for my Halloween display. The question I have is the small wire that you use to connect the female adapter to the the wiper motor during testing. They look very useful and a time saver while figuring everything out but they are not on your parts list. Is that something you made or is it something I can purchase? Thank you, Tom

powering the red and yellow together gives us high speed immediately , and then switching to white gives us self park , but do not forget ,the contunious powering white and yellow will go against each other , because yellow wants to move while white wants to park itself , motor will have heat ,eventually it become broken. A choice , 3 pole switch can be used or there are special wiper buttons ,that allows us to power just a short time for self park then it stops internally ,so we get rid of the contunious powering white.

Have you tried using just the yellow and green wires for power? If you put the green wire on plus 12 volts and the yellow wire on your ground, it'll spin clockwise. Reverse it for counterclockwise. Oh yeah, it'll go a whole lot faster.

Oh my gosh you're you're hilarious I love you one way you can slow it down without buying the speed controller if you don't have the means or you can't find one is put another load on it to load takes away from the motor and will slow down we had to do that with mirror balls in the theater mirror ball Motors are not variable speed you're a lot of fun I work for Knott's Berry Farm Halloween for over 10 years and we weren't Disney so we pulled a lot of stuff apart to make it work you're amazing you're fun

I don't think I have enough amps for my wiper motor I got the 645-692 harness...all the wires are gray....it connects to a 5 pin cardone wiper motor ...at first it made some sound like it was working but not enough power through a 12 volt 5 amp ...are there some motors that require more volts or amps? What am I missing
@nyetloki
@nyetloki Ай бұрын
Automotive parts are almost all 12V. Some can be 24V or 6V but that's rare. These motors can definitely pull more than 5 amps. Especially inrush current when it starts up. Or when you stall the motor from overloading it

How would you wire the motor to a 6 volt battery for low setting? A mechanic friend used a wiper motor and wired/hooked it up to a 6 volt battery that included a off/on toggle switch. Enjoyed the video. You're pretty, so that immediately gives a 'click' advantage, but most important, you're an excellent teacher! When you tell someone 'do this' and it 'does that' it's a lot harder to retain the information. You do a great job of putting things into perspective, and this truly helps to process and understand the how/why and how to actually apply it's use. Most of it is irrelevant to my needs, but I watched the whole thing because your personality sparkles

but.. and there is always but: using an electronic circuit to control a torque motor with heavy duty uses is not useful: coz passing thru low voltage to reach the requested speed at an specific voltage which is unreadable in fact, this can damage the motor and even the electronic card... we already know that the operating voltage is 12V SO, A knob switch and a relay are still the best to handle such system " in cars " anyways: u r a brave woman .. 👍
