Thanks for that Blair, going to be mounting a sounder to an older model Outback so this will definitely help. If you don't mind can you give me your opinion on side mounting the transducer, such as seen in your Harvey Dam video? Is that the best way to mount a side scan transducer in your opinion? I'm worried about additional drag and getting in the way while fishing. Cheers!

Thanks for the comment! If you don’t have the option of mounting a sounder underneath like the newer models have and want a transducer with side scan then I’d definitely recommend having the arm out the side. There was a small amount of drag but didn’t bother me one bit. You just have to remember that it has the potential to be hit from obstacles as it’s past the edge of the kayak

@@westhamcam2769 cheers! I’ll keep trying to get out fishing and continue to improve on the footage. Just on the transducer arm I was using the ram branded one which I had a ball screwed to a T slot and not sure how the other brands go
