Map 1 is the perfect example of how beautiful beginner mapping can be. There is something about 'knowing what your doing' in mapping that almost keeps you from discovering new and unique maps.

I have an evil reactor down that forces you to time exactly the right time to reverse, then immediately turn the moment the camera turns in order to make a jump into an ice slide :) Started playing last Saturday! Heh.

@@lck0ut348 Thanks! I was sort of experimenting with what reactors do and got that as a result after realising it acts a bit interestingly backwards. Maybe I should keep it going as both a way to train myself to do kacky, or as a continuous project, almost like a portfolio of what skills I learn.

I felt the need to comment about how much I've been enjoying these offline videos. I can't explain how or why I like them so much, but there's something so soothing and I genuinely feel like paying attention to the video rather than just having it in the background while doing some other task.

I agree with what you said in the first map, sometimes - often, I'd argue - maps that are not "perfectly calculated" are more fun and competitive, because there's more variance in what lines can work. You can't go too far, of course, it can't just be straight up garbage, but the trend of obsessively polished tracks has actively made the game less interesting to me.

I love occasionally showing up in top 5 obscure ice map leaderboards in KZbin videos, I don't know why. It's like I've been an ice nerd long enough for it to be reflected in the world around me. If Wirtual makes a Plastice! series (my home and native land) video I might go insane (he probably would too, because of the maps)

Until I saw your comment I always thought it was "nose slide" because it had something to do with the nose of the car. So I just realized that it was "No slide" lol, as in you don't slide. Correct me if I'm still wrong lol I imagine I got it wrong because of the way Wirtual pronounces it really minces the words together to sound like "nose-slide"

I don't generally like speedrun grinds, but for some reason it's really fascinating to watch when a very skilled player tries to get an optimal time on a 1-5/10 random course. I watch it every time when Panga or Kirbs does it in Super Mario Maker.

On the 360-topic my opinion is that if the car has spun 360 degrees more/less than it should when completeing a lap it has done a 360. If you follow a full lap of a simple circle track you will complete a full rotation while doing so. If you do the same but at some point perform a "360" you will have made zero or two full rotations during one lap etc.

Easier way to word it: when you do a 360, you should be facing the same way as when you started. People often say 360 when they mean 180. If you just turn around to face the opposite direction, then that's a 180.

yea wirt keep playing lowkey maps, its always fun seeing you either destroy a leaderboard or explore something cool. COTD is always fun to watch for the competition, but these types of videos feel better for a casual setting. keep it up!

I feel like this video really shows the beauty and range of Trackmania. The first map, a beginner map with some really interesting tracks. A lol map with the mindless grind. The unintended shortcut being only slightly faster, and just a well made map with some interesting tricks at the end. Great video!

I really enjoy this type of video 😁 the unknown maps tends to be creative, fun and have a lots of room for short cuts, re route and tricks ! This is the peak of creativity, and what TM is also built for I guess. More enjoyable than a cotd with 0.02 difference with all "classic" turns. I prefer the pizza cut 😂 and bok cup !! On map 03 in the campaign: at the beginning If you go onto the grass to the left at the start and go right and stay with one wheel on the white you carry alot more speed through that big turn you must take the boost

360 really only refers to a full spin, anything less doesn't count. In tricks (such as skating) it is a goal point that can only be claimed if it has been reached. There is also 180, 540, and 720. It rarely goes past 720; that's generally the max.
