The area in Southwest Wisconsin is one of the unique wonders in America's heartland. It escaped the glaciers of the last ice age and has spent 1.6 million years shaping itself into one of America's great regions. I spent a day roading through it.

I grew up and still live in this area and it's absolutely incredible. There's nothing like this anywhere else and I couldn't be more grateful to live in such a diverse area. I can't imagine living anywhere else..I've tried, and it just doesn't feel right for me. I've always come back to my wonderful home here. Your video brought me to tears..Thank you for showing others how incredible it is here.

I grew up in Baraboo, Wisconsin. I now live on the Northwest coast of Oregon. Our home overlooks the Columbia River near its mouth and the Pacific Ocean. Thankfully I am able to occasionally You Tube travel to the driftless area of Southwestern Wisconsin. Videos like yours and those of fly fishermen who fish the rivers and creeks of the driftless area refresh my memories of this incredible area. As a teenager we drove to Ferryville and ice fished in the Mississippi River backwaters. There was a place that used old cars and trucks to take fishermen to fishing areas. They cut the doors and roof off the vehicles so you could escape if the vehicle went through the ice. Thanks for bringing back these memories.

After traveling the freeways to Baraboo from west T.C. area several times, decided to take the LONG way on State Hwy. 33 from the Mississippi River, crossing through The Driftless. What once was just my wondering what those hills I see from the freeway would look like from their country roads. I then went down the rabbit hole of geology that explains it to me. Well done video, I'm happy to see it was a special and happy place for you.

In 2010 I moved to Wisconsin from upstate NY. It is amazing how many connections there are between NY and WI. From geography, culture and Govenors, WI and NY have a history. Back when Wisconsin was a territory, at least one of the Govenors was from NY. Even after 1848, there were several NY born Govenors. One of those Govenors in particular was from Watertown, NY. I think there was also one from Lowville, NY. There are only four places in the world that have the same geological features as the Dells. Upstate New York is one of those places. Not only do WI and NY share European culture, they also share the culture of the Oneida. The Oneida in the Green Bay area originated from upstate NY. There is a Watertown, Utica, Rome, Brookfield and New Berlin in both WI and NY. My paternal grandfather was from the Bronx and my paternal grandmother was from Superior. I'll be checking out the Driffless Area... Even after 11 years there is a lot of Wisconsin to explore. P.S. If you get the opportunity to travel to N.Y., skip the city. Go straight to the Adirondacks and rent yourself a cabin by a lake.

The wonders of abstract thoughts and emotions, then making sense of it and connecting the dots. These traits aren't always universally shared by all peoples of the world. Ethnic Peoples of Europe and those of European ancestry are most naturally inclined to this transcending mindset of abstractions and wonder. They are largely unique to that of the Caucasian mind.
