Using a drill & drill plate 7" auger. Half the weight of gas. Drilling a bunch of holes before switching batteries. Slick.

It is connected to a large body of water. Most that fish it keep everything they catch. We chose to catch and release.

On the contrary, I think it's normal structure(less) for first ice Gills and Crappies to be found. Least it is on bodies of waters I've ice fished all my life. Mississippi River Backwaters can kind of relate to fish being shallow and can be found from first ice to last in featureless structure versus the Madison Chain up shallow early ice. Most of the time when you know your on fish, you don't even need to use your electronics(which sometimes I feel you catch more without)in that shallow of water and just hole hop. See PJ was doing that(going without electronics) I've put a item on IDO's X-Mas Wish List that Santa will hopefully fulfill. Ice Creepers for all the staff, lol.

They are GoPros. We use a large battery pack that plugs into the back of the GoPros which makes them look quite a bit different.

With ice being thin early on in the ice season, does the color of your clothing affect the bite? I'm only asking because PJ was wearing white clothing and it seemed like he was catching more fish.

Clothing color? No, I'm sure not. PJ did catch more fish. He has been fishing that bite since he was a little kid. He's got the wiggle figured out. 😁
