Hay there, I have two of those one running and ones not and five v- 4s , all on farm equipment there are great engines , I just keep the oil fresh and the air fins clean and they keep going, I would put one in a pickup if I was twenty years younger , I got my first one in 1975 and it's still running and it was used when I got it ,your video made me want to to fix my two cylinder one . Thanks TANK

Sometime after the TJD's were introduced they redesigned the crank on the THD's (not sure what year) so it was better balanced for lower vibration. The THD's allegedly had slightly lower emissions than the TJD's. This engine seems well balanced I see it is a later model that uses that more modern distributer I suspect it has electronic ignition and perhaps the better balanced crank. I wonder if the THD's that have the better balanced crank were introduced with the more modern distributer at the same time. I wish they had given it a different model number. I have sometimes heard the better balanced THD referred to as the THD-2 but never seen that written on a data plate. Anyone have a date or serial number when this change was made?
