Wow Karl, That's a beautiful buck. It's so cool to see the different terrain people hunt. You and Mark P. in the timber. I hunt a deep Cedar Swamp in central WI and my swamp edge here in MN. I kept missing the shots while self filming. I went to a TactaCam as a second option. It worked perfect for my bow buck this year. He was only 25-30 yards away when I first saw him. I carry two guns when I hunt this area. The 06 for long-distance shots and a shotgun for the closer shots. Halfway through the day I switched up shotguns when I changed locations after lunch

U show putting up a shot gun first and then all of a sudden u shoot with a rifle, why is that?

I hunt that property with 2 guns. The shotgun for shooting through brush,the rifle for more open long shots. In this case it was a far shot so the rifle worked better

Congratulations Karl! That is a beautiful buck! You shot two nice deer this year. It was a very slow year for us. Between the 18th through the 22nd at our camp we hunted out out two blinds and we only seen three deer. One of them was a spike and my son Matthew shot it. Fortunately we got some meat. Congratulations to Matthew!! I think this year was a very tough year for everyone, I just got lucky. The weather definitely played a factor in the UP this year. I don’t remember having such warm weather for season opener. I wish my sons Matthew and Nick could’ve joined me this year. There’s nothing like spending time with the kiddos.
