This video managed to be even worse than the included instructions...

I guess we got to get you on those little round balls with the Stars in the squares and rectangles to put in it so you can figure something out that's a little bit too technical for you

@crazedgoldminner7384 can you start with basic grammar and proper English? Maybe you can learn to write a proper sentence before you think of leaving another comment 😂

Its a nightmare. Son inlaw bought these and the dont come close to matching up to the boxes on the old Bayliner boat and they sit 4 inches to low. Tons of glass work already in this 19' boat with a new super structure and floor 109 hours and now I have to totally redo both seat boxes. Im beside myself. I didnt have time to do this job in the first place and he added all new carpet, wiring and upholstery. I didnt mean to rant but the seats just added many hours of work.

Mounted these to my new 3/4'' plywood deck with 5/16'' through bolts and these seats move all over due to the plastic molded base not being stiff enough. Going to make new bases either with plywood or 1/8'' stainless steel but first I will try just fabbing stainless steel cross members and see what that does, also worst comes to worst...lag the corners into the deck as they move side to side and up and down. There should be either 3 cross members on the bottom or the 2 spread out closer to the sides and that would help with the movement.

Ok I have a good fix for the flimsy base. I made some 13” long x 10 gage thick channels similar to the black plastic ones and it does stiffen them up big time. The black plastic channel does not let the base contact the floor like the channels I fabricated due to them sitting flush with the bottom of the base. The metal ones are 1/8” off the deck and when you tighten them it brings the base down even more. Right now my base is snug to the deck and is way better…easy fix if you have a metal shop in your area. I used 304 but 316 would be even better. I also will change out the top 2 where the seat connects too. Other than that these are nice comfortable thick padded seats just needed more pull down pressure to keep them from twisting all over.

Two back-to-back seats cost me $471 from Amazon and they were excellent quality the exact same thing he's putting together right now I put it together in less than 5 minutes this morning and can't be more pleased with the product

They are flimsy and not worth the price. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of options out there to choose from, so they have a corner on the market. Bases are ten inches, which is too high for most boats so had to cut mine down. The company was smart enough to have the base brackets molded in so you can cut it down by two inches if you have a fine tooth circular saw a little patience. They would make more money if they would mold the base with the the base brackets all the way to the top so you could modify it even more. They look good in my Larson, see how long they last.

Oh? The plastic seats that are the cheapest on the market are slightly flimsier than the wood ones you refused to buy because you couldn't afford them? Imagine that... Dope...

@@happykillmore349 where do you find the wood base ones?

Had someone 250lbs sit in seat you can see plastic bow / shift, clearly it won't last. I'm going to reinforce inside plastic framing with wood bracing between bottom of seat and deck ... Should help with this issue.

@@000distructzero is it just the base thats cheap or are the seat themselves weak as well?
@000distructzero2 жыл бұрын
@@djamesslade just the base.. The rest of the seat seems decent quality with good cushion. I scrapped the idea of reinforcing the plastic and just had new aluminum frames made

Love the dude sitting in the background...too bad he wasn't smoking a cigar and drinking a martini...Anyway, these seats were less expensive than redoing my old ones so I'm ok with the plastic...at least they can handle some moisture
