Cool video. Just curious, how did the blade open up as you were pulling it from your pocket!?! Did I miss something or not clued in to some key details!?! Thanks in advance for your time and the video.

This knife has what is referred to as a "wave" on the blade (the hook-looking part that is on top of the hole on the blade). This feature makes it so that when you pull the knife out of your pocket (if you pull down and back as you do so) the wave will catch on the inside of your pocket, and pull the blade out in one motion 👍 Thanks for watching!

No. With the ring installed and the index finger through it, 50% of the handle will extend beyond your hand. That is less than ideal.

Knife Rights and Knife Up are both good sites to get updates on the legality of knife and knife related things. I would suggest contacting local law enforcement for specifics in your area because, when it comes down to it, they'll be the ones making the call. Laws can vary widely between states and even local municipalities so do your do diligence.

Ha! Yeah, I'm not sure when these pants were made but I'd be willing to say I've had them for 5+ years. These are some of my favorite pants and I tend to wear them until they can't be worn anymore.

I don't know maybe it's just me but this doesn't seem to "real world usable." I'm thinking it would be real tough to be able to get your finger in the ringlet to pull out in a HIGH STRESS SELF DEFENSE SITUATION? Maybe with LOTS of practice you could but I don't want to have to dedicate hours of training to pulling out a knife fast.

It isn't my think but for people who are exposed to environments where defending themselves with a knife could become necessary it is a nice accessory. I would never try to defend myself with a knife for a couple of reasons: 1) The legal situation is almost always an uphill battle when a knife is used in self-defense. 2) I *haven't* spent hundreds of hours training and I know that because of my lack of training it probably wouldn't work out well. I site these same reasons when customers ask me for self-defense knife recommendations.

Let me get this straight. You pay $30 for the ring then install it and void the warranty. Spyderco has to change their warranty. What are they afraid of. It's my knife. I should be able to service it. These aren't complex tools.
