This song was released while I was in the height of my relationship with my ex. I introduced him to Madilyn's covers and EP and he came to love her music nearly as much as me. I just listened to this beautiful piano version of Wiser for the first time in several months, and it brought tears to my eyes because it reminds me so much of our tough breakup in April. Thank you Maddie (and Kurt) for this song and rendition: I never realized how much I would one day relate. The nostolgia is strong, but the thankfulness in my heart is stronger yet ❤️

I really like this because she basically did a cover of her own song and sang it exactly the way she wanted to. I thought the original version of Wiser on the EP was missing something. If you notice, her songs on the EP don't exactly sound like her vs the way she sings all these covers. While the songs on the EP sound (and definitely are) well put together with lots of time put into making them sound the way they do, I like the slight lack of professionalism in her covers. and by that I mean, she's not trying to impress anyone in particular with her covers. She's just singing because it's what she likes to do and she's doing it her way...Vs her EP where she's really trying to get her name out there and make a good impression.. which is where the professionalism is needed. this version just feels more real (and less over-produced) to me when I listen to it.
