I met Spam at the first UK Wishbone Ash convention in Solihull - spent a few mins talking to him privately. REALLY nice, genuine guy! I have one of his own albums as well - under the artiste name "O'Ryan" - "Something Strong". That's pretty good as well.

I know this wasn't a favorite of Ash fans, but I thought "Raw to the Bone" was great! Thanks much for posting it!

Awesome post! "Raw to the Bone" is my favorite Wishbone Ash album. Please post more if you have from this album and lineup. Great vocals.

I'm well aware that RTTB is an album that polarises opinion among Ash fans probably more than any other (with poss. exception of Psychic Terrorism and its predecessor (title of which I can't remember offhand). And yes, just like Marmite (nice analogy celticrootstv) I love it, and those two experimental ones as well.

Nice Tbird Merv, but this song is not my cuppa. I wonder who wrote it.

Spam was good but his range was always this high pitched register. His style just didn't suit most of the classic Wishbone Ash material. Most fans just couldn't stand this very different version of WA. Considering the various butchered versions of WA this wasn't such a bad band but it was doomed to fail.
