There's no way you could word it that would work out. He literally turned a wish to "escape" into drowning a man, which was actually not even giving him his stated wish *at all.* The Djinn can just straight not even give you what you asked for, not in any fashion whatsoever, as long as he can make some insane troll logic connection between what he wants to do and what you actually said. Hell, I'm surprised that telling him you "want him to leave" doesn't result in him killing you with razor-sharp leaves.
@Gnomelander14007 ай бұрын
@@n0wheregrrlthere is. I want to escape means you want to escape the trap. I want to escape this place and live in a mansion is a specific answer that the genie cannot twist.
@n0wheregrrl7 ай бұрын
@@Gnomelander1400 It doesn't matter how the genie interprets it because _the man didn't actually escape._ That means _the wish, even the obviously misinterpreted version,_ was never granted. He didn't wish to drown in a tank; he wished to _escape._ If you get stuck in a tank, can't get out of it, and drown, you didn't escape. Wish not granted. And I guarantee he'd twist your wish, even if he didn't just outright cheat like he did with the "escape" thing. Probably turn you into a living statue (fully conscious but unable to move) in the mansion, which would actually be worse than death as you slowly go mad.

On one hand I love how creepy Andrew Divoff is in the movie, but I kinda wish we saw more of his suave charmer persona from the first movie. I know it's probably justified because he doesn't make any pretenses with crooks and criminals, but it would have been amazing watching him use charisma to make them go with their wishes and then turn creepy once it's done.

A while back, there was a thing called [open source wish] which allowed the entire internet to draw up the contract of an "unfuckable" wish. People were split into x2 group, those that would fuck up the wish, and those that would re-write the clauses to amend fuck up. It was almost perfect but the project died out a while back. The best clause was the fact that (Initial clause A: all actions must be executed by the wisher without being mental manipulated in anyway, magic or otherwise without consent, which also must be given without manipulation) Clause B: The wishers is allowed to reverse to a state right before making a wish, if they find the outcome of a wish to be less than fully desirable (subclause C: the previously state clause B, cannot be used to cause the wishers to go insane from being trapped in a time loop, and the proprietor of the wishes must try to execute the wishes to the best of their abilties, even to the point of outsources help, and consultations from others individuals [the general population if need be] on colloquium and general consensus on speculations on the wishers general state of mind and interpret how best to execute said wish). There was also a "faustian" subclause about how the wishers also couldn't be tricked into a time loop, because humans are never satisfied or happy with life. Stipulating that in the course of the human experience, suffering and hardships are natural and somewhat required to enjoy when life gets better. Those hardships, minor and major should not be effected by the wish. Such effects should be removed IF the wish is specifically manipulating the wishers life to be proportionally more negative than if the wisher never made the wish in the first place.
