MANY years ago before he was a true mega star I bumped into him sat alone at a beach bar in Greece and had the nerve to go up to him and say how much I loved him in Top Gun. A nicer man you could never hope to meet! He bought us a drink and chatted for about 30 minutes as though we were long lost friends. True class right there.

@@luisvasquez-kn6jiThe FBI is basically the premier Federal (US Government) Law Enforcement Agency, the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) and ATF (Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms) are also Federal agencies but they won’t override the FBI. @@ramennightit’s true in most states that a sheriff can override all other law enforcement in the sheriff’s jurisdiction. Sheriff’s are elected in nearly every state. I could tell you at least one good story of a sheriff overriding feds. The flaw in the state police appearance is the leader exclaims, “What are you doing in my county?” That’s a sheriff thing to say. I realize a dramatization won’t have the exact lines in many cases, but it does seem odd. Probably a writer unaware of the separation of authority between different agencies wrote that line. It’s no big deal, just like the oddity in Hollywood films of hearing a dial tone after the other party to a call hangs up. The Hollywood area is one of the few places in the US where landlines behaved like that at one time, and it depended on who placed the call and who hung up first. It was inaccurate for most of the US, but it’s what the writers knew. It became such a standard film and television trope that it is still used today and even when it wouldn’t make technological sense, like on a cell phone.

I believe Tom Cruise has made some bad life choices in aligning himself with a very questionable institution. Disagree strongly with your first sentence (and its grammar ;). I watch many old classics and while there's an inescapable element of taste, I defy anyone to name an actor who played such a variety of roles so convincingly. The great actors of the past tended to be "one-note" actors. You knew them for essentially one role. Tom Cruise (and a few other actors, such as Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, and Sandra Bulluck) can play any character in a first-rate way. Unless a German accent is required. :) To me, that's the hallmark of a great actor. However, one could choose any number of other criteria to inform one's decision. @@claudiocorleone7856

I love that his last word was simply "maam", no arrogance, no attitude and gave them nothing to swear holy hell on him!

I love their arrogance, but what I love more is when he walked out of there and the looks on their faces. Priceless.

Just watched Mission Impossible in 4D. It was amazing, the stunts that he all does himself are mind blowing. My daughter conned me into seeing it 3 times.

@@Livestrong00782 4D is where your seat moves up, down etc in sync with the movie. So in the car chase scene you are rocking all over, it’s like riding a bucking bronco. Plus air shoots out of all kinds of openings and if there is water in the scene you get sprayed with a fine mist. It is awesome!

I agree with the majority of the comments here,Tom Cruise is a brilliant actor and should be recognized by the industry in which he works.

Tom Cruise is probably the most famous actor on the planet. 😭 Tom's movies made $12.1 BILLION at the box office, leading man in Hollywood for 4 decades/ 40 years. He is the highest paid actor of all time, Tom got $100 million for each of 3 movies. Cruise is known by like 90% of people. I think you mean recognized in terms of acting skills, right? Then I agree with you.
