Nice response video! Part of the journey is about finding the equipment that best suits your style of play, and you feel most comfortable with. Perhaps certain clubs are more challenging to learn, but they can also offer more rewarding progress as your game improves - go with what feels right!

Makes sense. Good luck this year. I just added a 7 wood and I love it. Much better results than a hybrid for me.

Awesome buddy! Still love the tease with the reveal video, I see what you did there with no dialogue. Thanks for the explanation, makes more sense now. Looking forward to watching your first round!

I'm interested now in following your progress this year. First set of clubs that I played were MacGregor blades that were handed down from my father in the 1980's. They stung your hands if you mishit them at all. Last set of blades I played were the MP5 Mizunos, which were more of a channel back. I actually prefer looking down on a smaller headed iron with less offset, than trying to play a "game improvement" iron. And as a newer golfer, I think that you have set yourself up for being a better iron striker, by trying to hit something like the T100s over a T300 or the like. As with anything in golf, putting in the right work goes a long ways. Having said that, you should really make sure that your iron shafts for your specs or you could ingrain terrible habits trying to middle those tiny club heads. Shaft weight and flex is so important. You might have just invested in a long term set of irons if you approach it that way. As your game changes, you will need more weight and stiffness in those shafts to get the same performance that you are getting today on a lighter spec. But you didn't say what graphite shafts you are playing, so I'm just guessing all of this. (Really should go get fit, or at least hit up a big box store where you could try your irons in different shafts to check the performance.). I'm in my 50s and play Mitsubishi MMTs (95 stiff) in some Callaway Apex Pros. I play off 8.7 currently, Driver Swing speed around 105 and carry 7 iron about 165. The only reason that I'm giving you that type of info, is that if you are taking golf as seriously as you seem to be, you want to know that your equipment fits your game. Don't worry if people give you crap about playing clubs suited for tour pro's. Those are nice irons, and can be gamed by anyone who learns to strike the ball in the middle of the face, so don't be afraid to play them. Just temper your expectations until you have put thousands of swings on those things and strike balls out of the center. Good luck with your channel, and go get some birdies. Draws will come. I fight hooking the ball, so if I had a KZbin channel it would be something like "FORE LEFT".

I appreciate the comment, especially the details! LOL @ "Fore Left", that could be a good name. I'm definitely tempering my expectations. I know now that it's going to take A LOT of time now.

Blades are overhyped. Go with cavity or hollow filled iron for more forgiveness.😊

Work on your putting it is the one area that amateurs can be equal or better than the pros. The biggest problem is speed for amateurs. When practicing think how hard you would need to toss the ball to the hole. It really helps and will help you break100. I average 29.5 putts per 18 holes if I can do it you can too!

Hi! I randomly stumbled upon this videos and had a question. Do you do any stat tracking? Specifically with tools like Arccos? I bring this up because they can be very eye opening and give you very clear direction as far as what areas of your game need to improve the most to reach the next level of play. For example, my approach play is by far the worst part of my game and I lose more strokes in approach play than I do in any 2 of the other categories. What's really funny about that is that if you had asked me what the worst part of my game was before I started stat tracking, I would not have said approach play and instead would have said short game or something like that. I think it could be valuable for you because it might help you find some easy wins that would make it very easy for you to break 100 but that's just my 2 cents. Also, if you can commit the time and money, finding a teaching pro you click with and that is invested in your game can make a world of difference as well but that's sometimes trickier than it should be.

Hey, thanks for the comment. Yes I do use Shotscope. I used to use Arccos. Unfortunately I don’t pay enough attention to my Shotscope data. I’m usually using my free time to edit videos. I may actually switch back to Arccos since my wife gifted me a Link Pro a couple of weeks ago. But you’re right, whatever I use I definitely need to look at the stats more in depth and I’ll probably be shocked like you were. A teacher would be awesome. One day I’ll find one, one day!

@@playbaad I've been using Arccos for years and have found it pretty useful. You do have to be a little aware when you're recording a round in it because it my think the pin and your putts are from different positions and that will cause both your short and putting stats to be off but otherwise its pretty good. And in my experience, a decent pro and some dedicated practice should get you breaking 100 pretty quickly. Best of luck to you!

I mean, the handicap for T100s can literally fit anyone from +5 to -15, so it’s not that delusional really
